git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "Mostly the usual clk driver updates and new SoC additions plus non-critical data fixes for things that weren't used yet. One thing that's new here in the core is SSC spread spectrum support (SSC) in the clk provider API. The idea is that DT authors will configure SSC for certain clks and they'll be configured at clk provider registration time or when a consumer device is probed, similar to how we handle assigned clk rates or parents. On the clk driver side we have Qualcomm adding almost half the diff because they add support for 4 different SoCs and then a long tail of other SoCs like Mediatek, Renesas, Rockchip, SpaceMiT, etc. add more SoC support this time around. Luckily it's mostly clk data for these new SoCs because the actual clk_ops are already there. Beyond the new drivers we get all the little fixups for more compilation coverage or usage of more modern APIs. That all looks normal. Finally, I kinda buried the lede, I'm bringing on Brian and Jerome to help out with maintaining the clk subsystem. The current working model is already semi-distributed in that silicon vendors typically take care of their drivers and send me pull requests but I'm becoming a bottleneck for new drivers and core framework review because this has become a 100% volunteer effort on my part. Mike is stepping down after all these years (thanks Mike!) and that jump started the conversation around finding co-maintainers. Brian and Jerome have graciously offered to help me with the work load, meaning in the future they'll be sending pull requests and committing directly to the clk.git tree. They've both been around on the list for a while, I've met them both in person, and they've been making changes to the core clk framework along with helping review patches so I'm pretty confident this will work well. 2026-07-20phy: mediatek: Add support for MT8196 MIPI DSI PHYAngeloGioacchino Del Regno
Add support for the MIPI DSI PHY found in the MediaTek MT8196 SoC and its variants. This PHY has a different register layout and provides support for more hardware features compared to the previous generation. This initial driver only adds support for basic functionality that is necessary to drive MIPI DSI displays as a D-PHY. Feature additions like lane-swap, DPHY/CPHY switching, dual-port, and others, may be done in the future. 2025-06-26phy: mediatek: tphy: Cleanup and document slew calibrationAngeloGioacchino Del Regno
While it's true that, generally, the T-PHY V3 does not support the slew calibration process, some minor versions of it actually do, moreover, some SoCs may not support this even though the version of the PHY IP does. The reference clock and rate coefficient parameters are used only for slew calibration: move those to platform data, then document and change the checks in hs_slew_rate_calibrate() to perform the calibration only if: - EYE value was not supplied (pre-calculated calibration); and - Slew reference clock value is present (not zero); and - Slew coefficient is present (not zero). Moreover, change the probe function to always check if both the slew reference clock and coefficient properties are present and, if not, assign the value from platform data (which, as reminder, if not added means that it's zero!), instead of checking the PHY IP version. 2024-04-12phy: add driver for MediaTek XFI T-PHYDaniel Golle
Add driver for MediaTek's XFI T-PHY which can be found in the MT7988 SoC. The XFI T-PHY is a 10 Gigabit/s Ethernet SerDes PHY with muxes on the internal side to be used with either USXGMII PCS or LynxI PCS, depending on the selected PHY interface mode. The PHY can operates only in PHY_MODE_ETHERNET, the submode is one of PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_* corresponding to the supported modes: * USXGMII \ * 10GBase-R }- USXGMII PCS - XGDM \ * 5GBase-R / \ }- Ethernet MAC * 2500Base-X \ / * 1000Base-X }- LynxI PCS - GDM / * Cisco SGMII (MAC side) / I chose the name XFI T-PHY because names of functions dealing with the phy in the vendor driver are prefixed "xfi_pextp_". The register space used by the phy is called "pextp" in the vendor sources, which could be read as "_P_CI _ex_press _T_-_P_hy", and that is quite misleading as this phy isn't used for anything related to PCIe, so I wanted to find a better name. XFI is still somehow related (as in: you would find the relevant places using grep in the vendor driver when looking for that) and the term seemed to at least somehow be aligned with the function of that phy: Dealing with (up to) 10 Gbit/s Ethernet serialized differential signals. In order to work-around a performance issue present on the first of two XFI T-PHYs found in MT7988, special tuning is applied which can be selected by adding the 'mediatek,usxgmii-performance-errata' property to the device tree node, similar to how the vendor driver is doing that too. There is no documentation for most registers used for the analog/tuning part, however, most of the registers have been partially reverse-engineered from MediaTek's SDK implementation (see links, an opaque sequence of 32-bit register writes) and descriptions for all relevant digital registers and bits such as resets and muxes have been supplied by MediaTek. 2023-07-17phy: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-03-20phy: mediatek: phy-mtk-mipi-dsi: Convert to platform remove callback ↵Uwe Kleine-König
returning void The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant.
