2026-07-31soc/tegra: fuse: Do not use fuse data as entropy sourceKartik Rajput
Fuse values are static and device-unique but not secret. Using them as an entropy source weakens the overall randomness pool because the data is constant and externally observable over the device’s lifetime. My Grace host started to show this warning: WARNING: drivers/soc/tegra/fuse/tegra-apbmisc.c:120 at tegra_read_straps tegra30_fuse_add_randomness tegra30_fuse_init tegra_fuse_probe tegra_read_straps() warns when the static "chipid" cache is still zero, using it as a proxy for "APBMISC has been initialised". However chipid is only ever populated lazily by tegra_read_chipid() when it reads the APBMISC register. Guard on apbmisc_base instead, which is set unconditionally in tegra_init_apbmisc_resources() for all platforms and is already the sentinel used by tegra_read_chipid(). Tegra410 and Tegra241 deprecate the HIDREV register. The recommended method is to use ARM SMCCC to retrieve the chip ID, major and minor revisions, and platform information. Prefer ARM SMCCC when the platform supports it; fall back to HIDREV otherwise. Behavior on older Tegra SoCs that do not support ARM SMCCC remains unchanged. 2026-02-21Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argumentLinus Torvalds
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' | xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/' to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL argument to just drop that argument. Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically. 2026-02-21treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar typesKees Cook
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) 2025-11-14soc/tegra: fuse: speedo-tegra210: Update speedo IDsAaron Kling
Existing code only sets CPU and GPU speedo IDs 0 and 1. The CPU DVFS code supports 11 IDs and nouveau supports 5. This aligns with what the downstream vendor kernel supports. Align SKUs with the downstream list. The Tegra210 CVB tables were added in the first referenced fixes commit. Since then, all Tegra210 SoCs have tried to scale to 1.9 GHz, when the supported devkits are only supposed to scale to 1.5 or 1.7 GHZ. Overclocking should not be the default state. 2025-11-14soc/tegra: fuse: Do not register SoC device on ACPI bootKartik Rajput
On Tegra platforms using ACPI, the SMCCC driver already registers the SoC device. This makes the registration performed by the Tegra fuse driver redundant. When booted via ACPI, skip registering the SoC device and suppress printing SKU information from the Tegra fuse driver, as this information is already provided by the SMCCC driver. 2024-02-01soc/tegra: fuse: Define tegra194_soc_attr_group for Tegra241Kartik
Tegra241 SoC data uses tegra194_soc_attr_group, which is only defined if config CONFIG_ARCH_TEGRA_194_SOC or CONFIG_ARCH_TEGRA_234_SOC or both are enabled. This causes a build failure if both of these configs are disabled and CONFIG_ARCH_TEGRA_241_SOC is enabled. Define tegra194_soc_attr_group if CONFIG_ARCH_TEGRA_241_SOC is enabled. Add ACPI support for Tegra194 & Tegra243 SoC's. This requires following modifications to the probe when ACPI boot is used: - Initialize soc data. - Add nvmem lookups. - Register soc device. - use devm_clk_get_optional() instead of devm_clk_get() to get fuse->clk, as fuse clocks are not required when using ACPI boot. Also, drop '__init' keyword for tegra_soc_device_register() as this is also used by tegra_fuse_probe() and use dev_err_probe() wherever applicable. 2023-07-21soc/tegra: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. The Tegra234 fuse size is incorrectly defined as 0x98c. The actual size of the Tegra234 fuses is 0xf8c and so update the size of the Tegra234 fuses to fix this. 2022-11-11soc/tegra: fuse: Use platform info with SoC revisionKartik
Tegra pre-silicon platforms do not have chip revisions. This makes the revision SoC attribute meaningless on these platforms. Instead, populate the revision SoC attribute with a combination of the platform name and the chip revision for silicon platforms, and simply with the platform name on pre-silicon platforms. On Tegra186 and later, various FUSE offsets are restricted and cannot be accessed from CCPLEX. Currently nvmem binary interface allows reading such offsets from userspace, which results in RAS errors. Add nvmem keepout lists to avoid any reads to restricted offsets. 2022-09-15soc/tegra: Set ERD bit to mask inband errorsSumit Gupta
Add a function to set the ERD (Error Response Disable) bit in the MISCREG_CCROC_ERR_CONFIG register from the Control Backbone (CBB) error handler driver. ERD bit allows masking of SError due to inband errors which are caused by illegal register accesses through CBB. When the bit is set, interrupt is used for reporting errors and magic code '0xdead2003' is returned. This change is only required for Tegra194 SoC as the config is moved to CBB register space for future SoC's. Also, remove unmapping the apbmisc_base as it's required to get the base address for accessing the misc register. The FUSE clock should be enabled during suspend on Tegra124. Currently clk driver enables it on all SoCs, but FUSE may require a higher core voltage on Tegra30 while enabled.
