Replace the driver local HDMI14_MAX_TMDSCLK define with the shared

The KMS framework uses two slightly different definitions for the state
concept. For a given object (plane, CRTC, encoder, etc., so
drm_$OBJECT_state), the state is the entire state of that object.
However, at the device level, drm_atomic_state refers to a state update
for a limited number of objects.
Thus, drm_atomic_state isn't the entire device state, but only the full
state of some objects in that device. This has been an endless source of
confusion and thus bugs.
We can rename the drm_atomic_state structure to drm_atomic_commit to
make it less confusing.
This patch was created using:
rg -l drm_atomic_state | \
xargs sed -i 's/drm_atomic_state/drm_atomic_commit/g; s/drm_atomic_commit_helper/drm_atomic_state_helper/g'
mv drivers/gpu/drm/tests/drm_atomic_state_test.c drivers/gpu/drm/tests/drm_atomic_commit_test.c

This driver looks up the next_bridge at probe time and stores it in
hdmi->bridge.next_bridge, but only uses the stored value when attaching,
and only in the DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR case.
This will be problematic with an upcoming change, adding an hdmi-connector
using a device tree overlay when not present. That change is in turn
necessary to migrate the i.MX LCDIF driver to the bridge-connector.
The problem is that, adding the hdmi-connector via an overlay, devlink
considers hdmi-connector a consumer of the dw-hdmi device, generating a
chicken-egg problem:
* hdmi-connector probe won't be tried until dw-hdmi is probed (devlink)
* dw-hdmi probe will defer until it finds the next_bridge (the
hdmi-connector wrapper bridge)
In preparation for those changes, move the next_bridge lookup from probe to
attach, when it is actually used. This allows dw-hdmi to probe, so that the
hdmi-connector can probe as well.
Also avoid storing the pointer in hdmi->bridge.next_bridge: the value is
computed when needed, thus a local variable is enough.
Finally, this also allows to slightly improve the code by not doing any DT
lookup in the !DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR case.

dw-hdmi can operate in two different modes, depending on the platform data
as set by the driver:
A. hdmi->plat_data->output_port = 0:
the HDMI output (port@1) in device tree is not used
B. hdmi->plat_data->output_port = 1:
the HDMI output (port@1) is parsed to find the next bridge
Only case B is supported when the DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR flag is
passed to the attach callback. Emit a warning when this is violated. Also
return -EINVAL which would be returned by drm_bridge_attach() right after
anyway.

dw_mipi_dsi_host_attach() and dw_mipi_dsi2_host_attach() call
drm_bridge_add() before pdata->host_ops->attach(). If attach fails,
the bridge stayed registered without drm_bridge_remove(), leaking the

The bridge gets allocated and initialized implicitly via the
devm_drm_bridge_alloc() helper in dw_dp_bind(). However, this is
preceded by an explicit allocation for the same dw_dp struct, which is
never used anywhere as the return from devm_kzalloc() gets immediately
overwritten by the aforementioned helper.

Now that we introduced a new drm_output_color_format enum to represent
what DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_* bits were representing, we can switch to the new
enum.
The main difference is that while DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_ was a bitmask,
drm_output_color_format is a proper enum. However, the enum was done is
such a way than DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_X = BIT(DRM_OUTPUT_COLOR_FORMAT_X) so
the transitition is easier.
The only thing we need to consider is if the original code meant to use
that value as a bitmask, in which case we do need to keep the bit shift,
or as a discriminant in which case we don't.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Fix several issues in dw_dp_bind() error handling:
1. Missing return after drm_bridge_attach() failure - the function
continued execution instead of returning an error.
2. Resource leak: drm_dp_aux_register() is not a devm function, so
drm_dp_aux_unregister() must be called on all error paths after
aux registration succeeds. This affects errors from:
- drm_bridge_attach()
- phy_init()
- devm_add_action_or_reset()
- platform_get_irq()
- devm_request_threaded_irq()
3. Bug fix: platform_get_irq() returns the IRQ number or a negative
error code, but the error path was returning ERR_PTR(ret) instead
of ERR_PTR(dp->irq).
Use a goto label for cleanup to ensure consistent error handling.

Having only a single set of callbacks, hdmi_clear_infoframe and
hdmi_write_infoframe, bridge drivers don't have an easy way to signal to
the DRM framework, which InfoFrames are actually supported by the
hardware and by the driver and which are not. Also, it makes it
extremely easy for HDMI bridge drivers to skip implementing the
seemingly required InfoFrames (e.g. HDMI VSI). Last, but not least,
those callbacks take a single 'type' parameter, which makes it
impossible to implement support for multiple VSIs (which will be
required once we start working on HDMI Forum VSI).
Split the callbacks into a per-InfoFrame-kind pairs, letting the bridge
drivers actually signal supported features. The implementation follows
the overall drm_bridge design, where the bridge has a single
drm_bridge_funcs implementation and signals, which functions are to be
called using the drm_bridge->ops flags.
The AVI and HDMI VSI are assumed to be required for a normal HDMI
operation (with the drivers getting a drm_warn_once() stub
implementation if one is missing). The Audio InfoFrame is handled by the
existing DRM_BRIDGE_OP_HDMI_AUDIO, while the SPD and HDR DRM InfoFrames
got new drm_bridge_ops values.

HPD pins.
Since in this situation we are now polling for the EDID data via i2c
change the error message to a rate limited debug message when we are
unable to complete an i2c read, as a disconnected device would
otherwise fill dmesg with i2c read errors.

Currently the TIMER_BASE_CONFIG0 register gets initialized to a fixed
value as initially found in vendor driver code supporting the RK3588
SoC. As a matter of fact the value matches the rate of the HDMI TX
reference clock, which is roughly 428.57 MHz.
However, on RK3576 SoC that rate is slightly lower, i.e. 396.00 MHz, and
the incorrect register configuration breaks CEC functionality.
Set the timer base according to the actual reference clock rate that
shall be provided by the platform driver. Otherwise fallback to the
vendor default.
While at it, also drop the unnecessary empty lines in

In some application scenarios, we hope to get the corresponding
connector when the bridge's detect hook is invoked.
In most cases, we can get the connector by drm_atomic_get_connector_for_encoder
if the encoder attached to the bridge is enabled, however there will
still be some scenarios where the detect hook of the bridge is called
but the corresponding encoder has not been enabled yet. For instance,
this occurs when the device is hot plug in for the first time.
Since the call to bridge's detect is initiated by the connector, passing
down the corresponding connector directly will make things simpler.

devm_drm_bridge_alloc() API
devm_drm_bridge_alloc() is the new API to be used for allocating (and
partially initializing) a private driver struct embedding a struct
drm_bridge.
For many drivers having a simple code flow in the probe function, this
commit does a mass conversion automatically with the following semantic
patch. The changes have been reviewed manually for correctness as well as
to find any false positives.
The patch has been applied with the explicit exclusion of bridge/panel.c,
handled by a separate patch.
After applying the semantic patch, manually fixed these issues:
- 4 drivers need ERR_CAST() instead of PTR_ERR() as the function calling
devm_drm_bridge_alloc() returns a pointer
- re-added empty lines and comments that the script had removed but that
should stay

The drm_bridge structure contains an encoder pointer that is widely used
by bridge drivers. This pattern is largely documented as deprecated in
other KMS entities for atomic drivers.
However, one of the main use of that pointer is done in attach to just
call drm_bridge_attach on the next bridge to add it to the bridge list.
While this dereferences the bridge->encoder pointer, it's effectively
the same encoder the bridge was being attached to.
We can make it more explicit by adding the encoder the bridge is
attached to to the list of attach parameters. This also removes the need
to dereference bridge->encoder in most drivers.
