5 daysdrm/amd/display: fix division by zero in get_estimated_bw()Hari Mishal
get_estimated_bw() divides by link->dpia_bw_alloc_config.bw_granularity, which is zeroed by reset_bw_alloc_struct() and only populated once DP_TUNNELING_BW_ALLOC_CAP_CHANGED has been handled. link_dp_dpia_handle_bw_alloc_status(), the DPCD interrupt handler, calls get_estimated_bw() whenever DP_TUNNELING_ESTIMATED_BW_CHANGED is set, independently of whether DP_TUNNELING_BW_ALLOC_CAP_CHANGED has ever fired for that link. A connected USB4/DPIA tunneling device that reports an estimated-bandwidth change before ever reporting a capability change drives a division by zero in this IRQ path. link_dpia_send_bw_alloc_request() already guards the same bw_granularity division; add the identical guard here rather than introducing a new pattern. 2026-07-15drm/amd/display: Add dp_skip_rbr flag for NUTMEGTimur Kristóf
No functional changes. Just clean up a conceptual mismatch. Based on feedback on the NUTMEG code in DC, the preferred_link_setting is meant to force the DP link to a specific setting, meaning both the link rate and lane count should be locked to an exact value. What NUTMEG needs is a lower bound on the link rate, which is not the same concept. Implement this as a HW workaround flag instead. 2026-05-05drm/amd/display: Fix type mismatches using guards and explicit castsGaghik Khachatrian
[Why] Address signed/unsigned comparison warnings across dc paths to keep builds warning-clean and improve type safety at comparison boundaries. Most warnings came from signed loop/index temporaries compared against unsigned counters and table sizes, plus a smaller number of mixed signed/unsigned clock, bandwidth, and geometry comparisons. [How] Aligned iterator and temporary variable types with the semantic type of the compared bounds. Used unsigned indices for loops bounded by unsigned counters and table sizes, while retaining signed types where values are semantically signed or participate in arithmetic that may legitimately go negative. Where mixed signed/unsigned comparisons are intentional, applied explicit boundary casts or guarded comparisons instead of broad type changes. No functional behavior changes are intended; this is a warning-resolution and type-alignment cleanup. 2026-04-17drm/amd/display: Fix implicit narrowing conversion warningsGaghik Khachatrian
[Why] Multiple display source files contain implicit narrowing conversions when assigning wider integer types (int, uint32_t) to narrower fields (uint8_t, uint16_t) at hardware register, protocol, and storage boundaries. These conversions are intentional but undocumented, and accompanying runtime assertions add noise without providing compile-time safety. Deal with some minor idiosyncracies of TRAVIS and NUTMEG chips. - Always use DP signal type with these chips so that the normal DP code paths can work with them without a major refactor of the code base. Properly set this. - NUTMEG seems to only work with HBR, not RBR, so set a preferred link rate for this chip. See amdgpu_atombios_dp_get_dp_link_config() for reference. - NUTMEG is recognized as a DP branch device but reports 0 sinks, which is wrong and confuses DC (it hits an early return). Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
