There are several places in transact_test() where we use the hardcoded
0x1000 (4k) as page size, which is not always correct for architectures
supporting multiple page sizes.
Switch to use the correct page size. Otherwise ./ksft_pagemap.sh on a
16k-page-size arm64 box fails with

ksft_process_madv.sh currently runs run_vmtests.sh with the mmap category.
Update it to run the process_madv category, since ksft_mmap.sh already
runs the mmap category tests.
This avoids running mmap tests twice and ensures that process_madv tests
are run through the kselftest harness.

test_maps fails in the sockmap test because sockmap_verdict_prog.c
drops the packet when the first 8 bytes are not directly accessible:
if (data + 8 > data_end)
return SK_DROP;
The blamed commit removed bpf_skb_pull_data() from the stream parser
program so that the parser no longer modifies the skb. That was needed,
but it also removed an implicit side effect: bpf_skb_pull_data()
linearized enough of the skb for later direct packet access.
In this test, the send side goes through the sockmap SK_MSG path. The
skb can have skb->len == 20 while its linear area is empty, so the
verdict program sees data == data_end and drops the packet even though
the payload length is sufficient.
Keep the parser read-only, and pull the first 8 bytes in the verdict
program before reading or writing them. Reload data/data_end after
bpf_skb_pull_data() as required.

The mptcpify BPF prog upgrades eligible TCP sockets to MPTCP, but only
when the socket type is exactly SOCK_STREAM. Its update_socket_protocol()
hook runs on the raw type from userspace, before the socket core masks
it with SOCK_TYPE_MASK, so the type may still carry SOCK_CLOEXEC or
SOCK_NONBLOCK in its upper bits and the equality check fails.
As a result, a socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM | SOCK_CLOEXEC, 0) -- what
common libraries do by default -- is silently left as plain TCP. This
was hit in practice with curl. Since mptcpify.c is referenced as example
code for enabling MPTCP transparently, the same mistake is likely to be
copied into real deployments where it fails the same way and is hard to
diagnose.
Mask the type before comparing, mirroring the socket core. Extend the
test to also create the server with SOCK_CLOEXEC set; the same masking
is applied to start_server_addr() so a flagged type still listens.

Add a regression test for the out-of-bounds bit operations on
struct mt_device.mt_io_flags.
A HID multitouch device can advertise a ContactCountMaximum far larger
than the number of contacts a single report describes, up to 255. The
driver used to keep the per-slot active state in the bits of a single
unsigned long and index set_bit()/clear_bit() by the slot number, so such
a device drove those operations out of bounds. The sticky-fingers release
timer made it fatal: mt_release_contacts() cleared one bit per slot and
overwrote the adjacent members of struct mt_device.
The new device advertises a ContactCountMaximum of 250 while exposing only
a few finger collections (a large contact count cannot be expressed with
one finger collection per contact within the HID descriptor size limit).
The test sends a single contact and lets the 100ms sticky-fingers timer
release it. A kernel without the fix panics in mt_release_contacts(); a
fixed kernel reports the release cleanly.

When lookup element from those per-CPU maps, which have special field
in their values and their value size is not equal to roundup(value_sz, 8),
the padding size of temporary non-zeroed kernel heap memory allocated by
kvmalloc should not be exposed to user space.
Without the fix:

Add a regression test for the fsuidgid_has_mapping() check in
vfs_tmpfile(). It idmaps a detached tmpfs mount so that the
caller-visible id range [0, 10000) maps onto the on-disk range
[10000, 20000) and checks that:
- a caller whose fsuid/fsgid fall outside that range cannot create an
O_TMPFILE through the mount and gets -EOVERFLOW instead of an inode
owned by (uid_t)-1;
- a mapped caller can create an O_TMPFILE, link it into the namespace,
and the ownership round-trips through the mount idmap: it is reported
as 0 through the mount and stored as 10000 on the underlying tmpfs.
The test runs entirely as root and uses setfsuid()/setfsgid() to become
the unmapped caller, so it needs no helper user. The layer directory is
world-writable so that an unmapped caller still clears the directory
permission check and reaches the fsuidgid_has_mapping() test.

Add a HID-BPF regression check for hid_bpf_get_data() requests whose
size would overflow when added to the offset.
The new rdesc fixup callback asks for offset 2 and size ~0ULL, then
records whether the helper returns NULL. A vulnerable kernel returns a
non-NULL pointer because the runtime check wraps the addition. A fixed
kernel rejects the request. The callback records the helper result
without dereferencing any returned pointer.
The callback reports the helper result through BSS and returns 0
intentionally. hid_rdesc_fixup return values are consumed as report
descriptor fixup results, so a positive test-result value would be
interpreted as a replacement report descriptor size.
Also add KHDR_INCLUDES to the HID selftest build so hid_bpf.c sees the
current kernel UAPI HID definitions on systems whose installed headers do
not provide enum hid_report_type.

The HID selftest skeleton contains several struct_ops maps, but each test
usually wants to load only the programs named by that test.
load_programs() disabled auto-attach for all maps, but left struct_ops
autocreate enabled. libbpf can enable autoload for programs referenced by
autocreated struct_ops maps, so an unrelated program can be loaded and fail
even when the current test does not use it.
Disable autocreate for all struct_ops maps by default, then re-enable it
only for the maps selected by the test before loading the skeleton.

query_nic_features() detects which offloads depend on tx-gso-partial
by enabling everything, turning tx-gso-partial off, and seeing which
active features drop out. Enabling all hw features is dangerous:
we may end up enabling rx-fcs and loopback for example. For the
ice driver we end up getting into problems with feature dependencies
so the cleanup isn't successful either, and the test exits with
rx-fcs and loopback enabled.
Scope the feature probing just to segmentation bits.

The UMEM state refactor made __send_pkts() use xsk->umem for Tx
address generation. At the same time, the shared-UMEM Tx setup copies the
Rx UMEM state into a Tx-local state object and resets base_addr and
next_buffer before configuring the Tx socket.
Passing that Tx-local object to xsk_configure() makes xsk->umem point to
the zero-based Tx allocator state. This breaks the BIDIRECTIONAL test once
the roles are switched: the same socket is then used for Rx validation, but
received descriptors from the other logical UMEM half are checked against
base_addr == 0. With the new UMEM bounds check, a valid address such as
base_addr + XDP_PACKET_HEADROOM is rejected as being outside the UMEM
window.
Keep xsk->umem as the shared/Rx UMEM view used for socket configuration
and Rx validation. Use the ifobject-local UMEM copy only for Tx descriptor
address generation, preserving the BIDIRECTIONAL test's intent of using
the proper logical UMEM half after the direction switch.

We always used 5 sec as the default command timeout. But soon after
it was introduced, David effectively made us ignore the timeout
(it was passed to process.communicate() as the wrong argument).
Gal recently fixed that, but turns out the 5 sec is not enough
for a lot of tests and setups. The fix caused regressions.
In particular running reconfig commands (e.g. XDP attach) on mlx5
with 32 rings and 9k MTU, on a heavily-debug-enabled kernel takes
more than 5 sec. The XDP installation command will time out after
5 sec but since the sleeps in the kernel are non interruptible
the command finishes anyway, leaving the XDP program attached,
but with non-zero exit code. defer()ed cleanups are not installed,
breaking the environment for subsequent tests.
Since "install XDP" is a pretty normal command a "point fix"
does not seem appropriate. 32 rings is a fairly reasonable
config, too, so we should just increase the timeout to 20 sec.
There's no real reason behind the value of 20.

Set rc = -ENOMEM at every platform_device_alloc() failure site in
cxl_rch_topo_init(), cxl_single_topo_init() and cxl_test_init() so the
failure is propagated and the module load aborts cleanly.
The cxl_acpi allocation site originates in the commit below, while the
host-bridge/root-port/uport/dport allocation sites fixed here were added
later in the single-host and RCH topology configs.

loopy_wait() expects millisecond timestamps. However, Ubuntu Resolute
can use uutils date, where `date -u +%s%3N` returns seconds plus full
nanoseconds instead of a 3-digit millisecond field. This makes
busywait expire too early and can make vlan_bridge_binding.sh read a
stale operstate.

For lower HZ values a quota of 1000us is much lower than the amount
of microseconds per tick which makes the tests test_cpucg_max and
test_cpugc_max_nested fail. Increase the test duration to accommodate
for lower HZ values.

Add a selftest for idmapping the merged overlay mount itself. It
applies an idmapping to a freshly created (still detached) overlay
mount with mount_setattr(MOUNT_ATTR_IDMAP) and checks that:
- getattr reports ownership mapped through the mount idmap;
- a file created through the idmapped mount is stored on the upper
layer with the corresponding overlay-final id;
- chown through the idmapped mount round-trips;
- an nfs_export overlay can be idmapped and decodable file handles
round-trip through it with correctly mapped ownership.
The layers live on a private tmpfs and are owned by the host id so that
they map to id 0 through the test idmapping, allowing the root caller
to operate on them.

set_layers_via_fds.c calls open_tree() directly, but that wrapper is
not provided by all C libraries, so the test fails to link with
"undefined reference to open_tree" on toolchains without it.
Use sys_open_tree() from ../wrappers.h, the syscall wrapper already
used for move_mount(), fsmount() and friends here. This is also a
prerequisite for building the new idmapped_mounts test added to this
directory.

user_get_super() is now backed by the global device-to-superblock table
instead of a walk of the super_blocks list. ustat(2) is its most direct
user-visible consumer but nothing in the tree exercises it.
Add a small regression test: the device number of a mounted tmpfs (an
anonymous device, registered in the table by sget_fc()) must resolve,
it must stop resolving after the unmount (the entry is dropped again in
kill_super_notify()), and bogus device numbers keep reporting EINVAL.
The test passes on kernels before the conversion: it pins down the
semantics the table-backed lookup must preserve.

proc-pidns.c uses open() and O_* flags, but does not include
<fcntl.h>. This breaks the proc selftests build with errors such as:

Extend the resolve_btfids selftest to cover kfunc sets defined with
BTF_KFUNCS_START/BTF_KFUNCS_END.
The test verifies that resolve_btfids correctly processes BTF_ID_FLAGS,
resolves function IDs, and checks the kfunc set is sorted.

TL;DR
On aarch64 with gcc toolchain, when test_progs is linked as a PIE,
reads of BTF ID array by C name return garbage because the GNU
assembler on aarch64 unconditionally folds .local symbol references
into section+addend form, and GOT slots cannot carry an addend per the
AArch64 ELF spec.
Fix by marking the test's BTF ID objects with hidden visibility, which
makes gcc emit a direct access that bypasses the GOT entirely.
Details below.
The subsequent patches adding kfunc checks to resolve_btfids test may
cause test failures on aarch64 / gcc-15:
test_resolve_btfids:FAIL:kfunc_set_flags actual 13 != expected 1
test_resolve_btfids:FAIL:kfunc_set_cnt actual 0 != expected 4
The test defines its BTF ID sets with the same macros as the kernel
and reads them back directly by C name (in the same way as the kernel
code does).
test_kfunc_set is a .local symbol emitted into .BTF_ids by inline asm
and declared to the compiler as a plain default-visibility
extern, that is:
extern struct btf_id_set8 test_kfunc_set;
Depending on the build environment, test_progs may be linked as a
position-independent executable (for example, gcc defaults to -fpie
[1]). In a PIE, taking the address of a default-visibility extern is
routed through the GOT (Global Offset Table) [2].
The GNU assembler's adjust_reloc_syms() pass (gas/write.c [3])
replaces references to local symbols with the corresponding section
symbol, folding the symbol's offset into the relocation addend. On
aarch64 this conversion is unconditional: tc_fix_adjustable() is
defined to 1 for all fixups (gas/config/tc-aarch64.h [4]), so even
GOT-generating relocations are subject to it. The resulting object
file therefore contains:
R_AARCH64_ADR_GOT_PAGE .BTF_ids + 0x54
R_AARCH64_LD64_GOT_LO12_NC .BTF_ids + 0x54
However, the AArch64 ELF specification mandates that GOT-generating
relocations must have a zero addend [5]. The +0x54 is therefore not
honored: the linker creates a GOT slot pointing at the .BTF_ids base,
and every access through that slot reads offset 0 instead of 0x54.
This is purely a read-side problem, specific to the PIE test binary on
aarch64 with gcc toolchain. resolve_btfids patches the set header
correctly and the .BTF_ids bytes in test_progs are correct. vmlinux is
unaffected because it is built with -fno-PIE [6] and reaches .BTF_ids
with direct, addend-preserving relocations rather than the GOT. clang
is unaffected because LLVM's assembler retains the original symbol for
GOT relocations instead of converting to section+addend [7].
To mitigate this issue, mark the test's .local BTF ID objects
(test_list_local and test_set) hidden with a visibility pragma so that
gcc treats them as non-interposable and emits a direct access instead
of a GOT load. test_list_global is .globl, which the assembler does not
fold into section+addend, so it is left at default visibility. This
keeps the natural by-name access, works in both PIE and non-PIE builds,
and needs no change to the BTF_ID macros or resolve_btfids.

Add verifier_unpriv coverage for a raw socket-filter load of the
bpf_prog_active typed ksym. The test verifies that the unprivileged load
remains accepted and that the verbose verifier log prints the ldimm64
immediate as 0x0 instead of exposing a nonzero kernel address.

Add verifier_var_off coverage for variable-offset stack reads from spilled
scalar constant zero values.
Cover single-slot and cross-slot spilled zero reads, a sub-8-byte spill
with neighbouring STACK_ZERO bytes, and a sub-8-byte spill with
neighbouring STACK_MISC bytes that must not be treated as zero.
Add verifier_spill_fill coverage for a fixed-offset stack read spanning
both STACK_ZERO bytes and scalar const-zero STACK_SPILL bytes.
Use verifier log assertions to check both the zero result and the precision
backtracking trail.

Add regression coverage for bpf_refcount_acquire() on graph-node-derived
pointers.
The rejected case passes a popped list node pointer directly to
bpf_refcount_acquire(), which must fail because the pointer carries a
non-zero fixed offset.

sockmap_parse_prog.c is attached as an SK_SKB stream parser and modifies
the skb: it calls bpf_skb_pull_data() and writes a byte into the packet.
A stream parser runs on strparser's message head and must not modify it.
A resize frees the frag_list segments strparser still tracks, leading to
a use-after-free.
Make the parser read-only. It only needs to return the message length,
which keeps it attaching once packet-modifying parsers are rejected.

Add a regression test for the VLAN notifier handling that the netdev_work
deferral fixed.
A VLAN's real device propagates its UP/DOWN, MTU and feature changes onto
the VLANs stacked on top of it. This used to be done synchronously from the
real device's notifier and deadlocked when the real device was brought up
while enslaved to a bond (instance lock held across NETDEV_UP) and the VLAN
on top was itself a bond member: the synchronous propagation re-entered the
stack and took the same instance lock again.
The test covers both halves:
- that the deferred UP/DOWN, MTU and feature propagation actually lands on
the VLAN (link state and MTU use an ops-locked dummy, i.e. the deferral
path; features use veth, which exports vlan_features to inherit), and
- that the deadlock-prone topology - a VLAN on a dummy, with the VLAN and
the dummy each enslaved to a different bond - can be built without
hanging.

splice_short grows its pipe with (MAX_FRAGS + 1) * 0x1000 so it can
queue one short vmsplice() buffer for each fragment before draining the
pipe. That assumes 4K pipe buffers.
On 64K-page kernels the request is rounded to 262144 bytes, which
provides only four pipe buffers. The fifth one-byte vmsplice() blocks in
pipe_wait_writable and the test times out before it reaches the TLS path.
Request enough bytes for the same number of pipe buffers using the
runtime page size, and assert that the kernel granted at least that much.
If an unprivileged run cannot raise the pipe above the system
pipe-max-size limit, skip the test because it cannot exercise the
intended path.

There is no LoongArch support for get_preempt_count() currently and its
fallback path always returns 0, just add it so that bpf_in_interrupt(),
bpf_in_nmi(), bpf_in_hardirq(), bpf_in_serving_softirq(), bpf_in_task()
work for LoongArch as well.
The latest kernels select CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK, it can just read
preempt_count from the thread_info which is embedded within task_struct.
With this patch, "./test_progs -t exe_ctx" passes on LoongArch.

cpuset_hotplug_update_tasks()
As reported by sashiko [1], cpuset_hotplug_update_tasks() may perform
unnecessary task iteration and updating of tasks' CPU and node masks
when mems_allowed and/or cpus_allowed are not set in cpuset v2. It is
due to the fact that the temporary new_cpus and new_mems masks do not
inherit parent's effective_cpus/mems when they are empty which is the
expected behavior for cpuset v2 since commit 4ec22e9c5a90 ("cpuset:
Enable cpuset controller in default hierarchy").
Fix that and avoid unnecessary work by enhancing
compute_effective_cpumask() to add the empty cpumask check
and inheriting the parent's versions if empty when in v2. A new
compute_effective_nodemask() helper is also added to perform a similar
function for new effective_mems.
Add new test_cpuset_prs.sh test cases to confirm that effective_cpus
will inherit the parent's version if cpuset.cpus is empty.

KVM selftests for 7.3, early edition
- Automatically allocate a full page for L2 guest stacks on x86 instead of
requiring test-specific L1 guest code to carve out a portion of the L1
stack for L2 usage, and to ensure the L2 stack also adheres to the x86-64
calling convention ABI.
- Add a selftest to verify {Guest,Host}-Only behavior in x86's mediated PMU.
