2026-07-09firmware: qcom: Add a PAS TEE serviceSumit Garg
Add support for Peripheral Authentication Service (PAS) driver based on TEE bus with OP-TEE providing the backend PAS service implementation. The TEE PAS service ABI is designed to be extensible with additional API as PTA_QCOM_PAS_CAPABILITIES. This allows to accommodate any future extensions of the PAS service needed while still maintaining backwards compatibility. 2026-07-09firmware: qcom: Add a generic PAS serviceSumit Garg
Qcom platforms has the legacy of using non-standard SCM calls splintered over the various kernel drivers. These SCM calls aren't compliant with the standard SMC calling conventions which is a prerequisite to enable migration to the FF-A specifications from Arm. OP-TEE as an alternative trusted OS to Qualcomm TEE (QTEE) can't support these non-standard SCM calls. And even for newer architectures using S-EL2 with Hafnium support, QTEE won't be able to support SCM calls either with FF-A requirements coming in. And with both OP-TEE and QTEE drivers well integrated in the TEE subsystem, it makes further sense to reuse the TEE bus client drivers infrastructure. The added benefit of TEE bus infrastructure is that there is support for discoverable/enumerable services. With that client drivers don't have to manually invoke a special SCM call to know the service status. So enable the generic Peripheral Authentication Service (PAS) provided by the firmware. It acts as the common layer with different TZ backends plugged in whether it's an SCM implementation or a proper TEE bus based PAS service implementation. 2026-07-09cpufreq: Make cpufreq_update_pressure() fall back to cpuinfo.max_freqRafael J. Wysocki
If arch_scale_freq_ref() is not defined for a given arch (like x86, for example), cpufreq_update_pressure() will always set cpufreq_pressure to zero for all CPUs in the system, which is generally problematic on systems with asymmetric capacity [1]. However, in the absence of arch_scale_freq_ref(), it is reasonable to assume that cpuinfo.max_freq is the maximum sustainable frequency for the given cpufreq policy. Moreover, there are cases in which arch_scale_freq_ref() would need to be defined to return essentially the cpuinfo.max_freq value anyway (for example, intel_pstate on hybrid platforms). For the above reasons, update cpufreq_update_pressure() to fall back to using cpuinfo.max_freq as the reference frequency if zero is returned by arch_scale_freq_ref(). Setting cpu->capacity_perf to cpu->pstate.max_pstate_physical in the "no turbo" case is inconsistent with what happens elsewhere in the driver and causes arch_scale_cpu_capacity() to be incorrect. It also skews arch_scale_freq_capacity() which ends up differing from 1024 for the guaranteed P-state. Address that by setting capacity_perf to HWP_GUARANTEED_PERF() in the "no turbo" case. Add a 'reservation' debugfs file under each namespace directory that shows the persistent reservation state, including enable status, generation counter, notify mask, current holder info, and the full registrant list with hostid and reservation key. Each attribute is emitted as a single "key=value" line so the output is easy to parse from scripts. The registrant list is emitted as repeated "reg=" lines. The notify mask is emitted as a comma-separated list of masked notification names. Empty values are reported as "none". Example output: enable=1 generation=2 notify_mask=reg_preempted,resv_released,resv_preempted rtype=write_exclusive holder=11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111111,0x1111 reg=11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111111,0x1111 reg=22222222-2222-2222-2222-222222222222,0x2222 When reservation is not enabled only "enable=0" is printed. 2026-07-09drm/xe/guc: Handle GuC local uncorrectable error notificationsZhanjun Dong
Add support for the GuC uncorrectable local error G2H notification and opt in to the feature when the submission ABI exposes it. When the notification targets a known exec queue, treat it like an engine reset request and route it through the existing timeout cleanup path. This keeps the queue teardown, pending job cancellation and error capture in one place instead of open-coding a parallel recovery flow. 2026-07-09PM: runtime: Only set runtime_error on suspend callback failuresPraveen Talari
When a runtime resume callback returns an error, rpm_callback() sets power.runtime_error on the device. This causes all subsequent calls to rpm_resume() to return -EINVAL immediately at the top of the function without invoking the callback again, making the failure permanent until runtime PM is explicitly re-initialized. Unlike suspend failures, resume failures should be retryable. If a device's resume callback fails, there is no reason to permanently block future resume attempts on that device and all of its consumers. Fix this by moving the power.runtime_error assignment out of the generic rpm_callback() and into rpm_suspend() at its fail label, where suspend callback failures are handled. Resume callback failures now return the error to the caller but leave power.runtime_error clear, allowing the next resume attempt to invoke the callback normally. ath12k_pci_soc_global_reset() tries to reset the device by writing to the PCIE_SOC_GLOBAL_RESET register. But it doesn't do a read-back to ensure that the write gets flushed to the device before the delay. This may lead to the delay on the host to be insufficient, if the posted write doesn't reach the device before the delay. So add a read-back after writing to the PCIE_SOC_GLOBAL_RESET register and before the delay. Compile tested only. 2026-07-09wifi: ath11k: fix potential buffer underflow in ath11k_hal_rx_msdu_list_get()Dmitry Morgun
When the first entry in msdu_details has a zero buffer address, the code accesses msdu_details[i - 1] with i == 0, causing a buffer underflow. Fix similarly to ath12k_wifi7_hal_rx_msdu_list_get() by adding a separate check for i == 0 before the main condition to prevent the out-of-bounds access. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE. 2026-07-09wifi: ath10k: fix skb leak on incomplete msdu during rx popManikanta Pubbisetty
When ath10k_htt_rx_pop_paddr32_list() or ath10k_htt_rx_pop_paddr64_list() encounters an incomplete frame (RX_ATTENTION_FLAGS_MSDU_DONE not set), it returns -EIO without purging the skb list built up so far, leaking any skbs already queued in the list. Other early-exit paths within these same functions already call __skb_queue_purge() before returning an error. Add it before the -EIO return as well to be consistent and prevent the leak. ecl_ishtp_cl_probe() acquires a reference to an ACPI device via acpi_find_eclite_device() but fails to release it in the error path when acpi_opregion_init() fails. Currently, manual fan control on supported HP models uses a single PWM value for both CPU and GPU fans, linking their speeds via a hardcoded gpu_delta offset. This prevents userspace tools from managing the thermal profiles of the CPU and GPU independently. Refactor the hwmon implementation to support independent dual-channel PWM control: - Split the single 'pwm' state into 'cpu_pwm' and 'gpu_pwm'. - Expose a second PWM channel ('pwm2') to userspace via hwmon_channel_info. - Remove the gpu_delta mechanism entirely. The 'pwm1_enable' mode remains shared, as the underlying hardware does not support per-fan modes. When switching to manual mode, both fans are smoothly initialized to their current RPMs. Additionally, ensure that the HP_FAN_SPEED_AUTOMATIC flag is isolated from rpm_to_pwm mathematical interpolations during mode resets to prevent unintended fan states. In init_rog_tunables(), if dc_limits are defined and allocating dc_rog_tunables fails, the already allocated ac_rog_tunables gets freed but the pointer stored in asus_armoury.rog_tunables[ASUS_ROG_TUNABLE_AC] is not cleared. Since init_rog_tunables() returns void, the driver initialization continues, which can lead to a Use-After-Free (UAF) when asus_fw_attr_add() accesses the freed AC tunables pointer. Additionally, if init_rog_tunables() succeeds but asus_fw_attr_add() fails, the allocated tunables are not freed, resulting in a memory leak. Fix these issues by making init_rog_tunables() return an error code and propagating it in asus_fw_init(). Defer setting the global pointers in asus_armoury.rog_tunables until both tunables have been successfully allocated. If asus_fw_attr_add() fails, release the allocated resources using a standard goto rollback block in asus_fw_init(). On the LG Gram 16T90SP, the ACPI firmware will only accept the values 0x80, 0xA2 and 0xA4 when setting the keyboard backlight. After a bit of research using ACPI tables from older models it seems that bit 8 is supposed to be always written as 1. Fix the keyboard backlight support on this model by always setting bit 8 inside the argument passed to the WMAB ACPI control method. The event notification callback might access kbd_backlight even when it was not successfully registered with the LED subsystem. The same happens inside acpi_remove(), where the LED devices are unregistered unconditionally. For this the parent device of the LED devices is changed to the native platform device. This is useful for kiosk and physically-secured deployments. The Fn+U followed by Fn+S hotkey chord is the only way to toggle the hardware state. Add the AC and DC power limit definitions for the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 2025 (G635LX), enabling the nv_tgp, nv_dynamic_boost and ppt_pl*_* tuning attributes on this model. Without an entry in the power_limits table the attributes are not exposed (has_valid_limit() returns false) and the firmware power knobs cannot be controlled. The G635LX ships an NVIDIA RTX 5090 Laptop GPU (150 W base TGP + 25 W Dynamic Boost = 175 W max, per the ASUS specification) and an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, matching the ROG Strix SCAR 18 (G835LW). The limits are therefore taken from the G835LW sibling entry and the ASUS specification rather than dumped from this board's firmware. Testing on a G635LX confirmed the attributes populate with this entry and that writing nv_dynamic_boost changes the measured GPU power draw (~151 W at minimum, ~169 W at maximum during inference), i.e. the limits reach firmware. The HP OMEN MAX 16-ak0xxx (board ID: 8DD6) has the same WMI interface as other Victus S boards, but requires quirks for correctly switching thermal profile. After testing we know that (similar to another HP Omen Max 16 device, board ID 8D87), the embedded controller on this board does not expose thermal profile which means we have to intentionally disable EC readback. Add the DMI board name to victus_s_thermal_profile_boards[] table and map it to omen_v1_no_ec_thermal_params. Testing on board 8DD6 confirmed that platform profile is registered successfully and fan RPMs are readable and controllable. Newer Huawei laptops (e.g. FLMH-XX / MateBook 14 2024) no longer support the legacy WMI interface for Fn-lock control. Instead, they expose direct ACPI methods \GFRS and \SFRS (Get/Set Fn key Reversal Status) which communicate with the EC via registers 0x6B (read) and 0x6C (write). Add huawei_acpi_fn_lock_get() and huawei_acpi_fn_lock_set() helpers that use acpi_evaluate_object() to call these methods. Both huawei_wmi_fn_lock_get() and huawei_wmi_fn_lock_set() now probe for \GFRS/\SFRS via acpi_has_method() first and fall back to the legacy WMI path if not present. The driver sets acpi_device_class() which is never read afterward, so make it stop doing that and drop the two symbols defined specifically for this purpose. Likewise, acpi_device_name() set by the driver is only used for input class device name initialization and the "EBook Switch" string literal may as well be used directly for that, so make the driver do so and stop setting acpi_device_name(), which allows the symbol defined specifically for this purpose to be dropped. The pnp.device_class string in the ACPI companion of the platform device used for binding the driver is never initialized, so passing it to acpi_bus_generate_netlink_event() is effectively equivalent to passing an empty string literal to that function.
