2025-09-09net: phy: marvell: Fix 88e1510 downshift counter errataRohan G Thomas
The 88e1510 PHY has an erratum where the phy downshift counter is not cleared after phy being suspended(BMCR_PDOWN set) and then later resumed(BMCR_PDOWN cleared). This can cause the gigabit link to intermittently downshift to a lower speed. Disabling and re-enabling the downshift feature clears the counter, allowing the PHY to retry gigabit link negotiation up to the programmed retry count times before downshifting. This behavior has been observed on copper links. 2025-09-09ptp: netc: add the periodic output signal loopback supportWei Fang
The NETC Timer supports looping back the output pulse signal of Fiper-n into Trigger-n input, so that users can leverage this feature to validate some other features without external hardware support. For example, users can use it to test external trigger stamp (EXTTS). And users can combine EXTTS with loopback mode to check whether the generation time of PPS is aligned with an integral second of PHC, or the periodic output signal (PTP_CLK_REQ_PEROUT) whether is generated at the specified time. Since ptp_clock_info::perout_loopback() has been added to the ptp_clock driver as a generic interface to enable or disable the periodic output signal loopback, therefore, netc_timer_perout_loopback() is added as a callback of ptp_clock_info::perout_loopback(). 2025-09-09ptp: add debugfs interfaces to loop back the periodic output signalWei Fang
For some PTP devices, they have the capability to loop back the periodic output signal for debugging, such as the ptp_qoriq device. So add the generic interfaces to set the periodic output signal loopback, rather than each vendor having a different implementation. 2025-09-09net/mlx5e: Add stale counter for PCIe congestion eventsDragos Tatulea
This ethtool counter is meant to help with observing how many times the congestion event was triggered but on query there was no state change. This would help to indicate when a work item was scheduled to run too late and in the meantime the congestion state changed back to previous state. 2025-09-09vxlan: Make vxlan_fdb_find_uc() more robust against NPDsIdo Schimmel
first_remote_rcu() can return NULL if the FDB entry points to an FDB nexthop group instead of a remote destination. However, unlike other users of first_remote_rcu(), NPD cannot currently happen in vxlan_fdb_find_uc() as it is only invoked by one driver which vetoes the creation of FDB nexthops. Make the function more robust by making sure the remote destination is only dereferenced if it is not NULL. 2025-09-09net: phy: fix phy_uses_state_machine()Russell King (Oracle)
The blamed commit changed the conditions which phylib uses to stop and start the state machine in the suspend and resume paths, and while improving it, has caused two issues. The original code used this test: phydev->attached_dev && phydev->adjust_link and if true, the paths would handle the PHY state machine. This test evaluates true for normal drivers that are using phylib directly while the PHY is attached to the network device, but false in all other cases, which include the following cases: - when the PHY has never been attached to a network device. - when the PHY has been detached from a network device (as phy_detach() sets phydev->attached_dev to NULL, phy_disconnect() calls phy_detach() and additionally sets phydev->adjust_link NULL.) - when phylink is using the driver (as phydev->adjust_link is NULL.) Only the third case was incorrect, and the blamed commit attempted to fix this by changing this test to (simplified for brevity, see phy_uses_state_machine()): phydev->phy_link_change == phy_link_change ? phydev->attached_dev && phydev->adjust_link : true However, this also incorrectly evaluates true in the first two cases. Fix the first case by ensuring that phy_uses_state_machine() returns false when phydev->phy_link_change is NULL. Fix the second case by ensuring that phydev->phy_link_change is set to NULL when phy_detach() is called. 2025-09-09irqchip/loongson-pch-lpc: Use legacy domain for PCH-LPC IRQ controllerMing Wang
On certain Loongson platforms, drivers attempting to request a legacy ISA IRQ directly via request_irq() (e.g., IRQ 4) may fail. The virtual IRQ descriptor is not fully initialized and lacks a valid irqchip. This issue does not affect ACPI-enumerated devices described in DSDT, as their interrupts are properly mapped via the GSI translation path. This indicates the LPC irqdomain itself is functional but is not correctly handling direct VIRQ-to-HWIRQ mappings. The root cause is the use of irq_domain_create_linear(). This API sets up a domain for dynamic, on-demand mapping, typically triggered by a GSI request. It does not pre-populate the mappings for the legacy VIRQ range (0-15). Consequently, if no ACPI device claims a specific GSI (e.g., GSI 4), the corresponding VIRQ (e.g., VIRQ 4) is never mapped to the LPC domain. A direct call to request_irq(4, ...) then fails because the kernel cannot resolve this VIRQ to a hardware interrupt managed by the LPC controller. The PCH-LPC interrupt controller is an i8259-compatible legacy device that requires a deterministic, static 1-to-1 mapping for IRQs 0-15 to support legacy drivers. Fix this by replacing irq_domain_create_linear() with irq_domain_create_legacy(). This API is specifically designed for such controllers. It establishes the required static 1-to-1 VIRQ-to-HWIRQ mapping for the entire legacy range (0-15) immediately upon domain creation. This ensures that any VIRQ in this range is always resolvable, making direct calls to request_irq() for legacy IRQs function correctly. On DGFX, during init_post_hwconfig() step, we are reinitializing CTB BO in VRAM and we have to replace cleanup action to disable CT communication prior to release of underlying BO. But that introduces some discrepancy between DGFX and iGFX, as for iGFX we keep previously added disable CT action that would be called during unwind much later. To keep the same flow on both types of platforms, always replace old cleanup action and register new one. 2025-09-09i40e: fix Jumbo Frame support after iPXE bootJacob Keller
The i40e hardware has multiple hardware settings which define the Maximum Frame Size (MFS) of the physical port. The firmware has an AdminQ command (0x0603) to configure the MFS, but the i40e Linux driver never issues this command. In most cases this is no problem, as the NVM default value has the device configured for its maximum value of 9728. Unfortunately, recent versions of the iPXE intelxl driver now issue the 0x0603 Set Mac Config command, modifying the MFS and reducing it from its default value of 9728. This occurred as part of iPXE commit 6871a7de705b ("[intelxl] Use admin queue to set port MAC address and maximum frame size"), a prerequisite change for supporting the E800 series hardware in iPXE. Both the E700 and E800 firmware support the AdminQ command, and the iPXE code shares much of the logic between the two device drivers. The ice E800 Linux driver already issues the 0x0603 Set Mac Config command early during probe, and is thus unaffected by the iPXE change. Since commit 3a2c6ced90e1 ("i40e: Add a check to see if MFS is set"), the i40e driver does check the I40E_PRTGL_SAH register, but it only logs a warning message if its value is below the 9728 default. This register also only covers received packets and not transmitted packets. A warning can inform system administrators, but does not correct the issue. No interactions from userspace cause the driver to write to PRTGL_SAH or issue the 0x0603 AdminQ command. Only a GLOBR reset will restore the value to its default value. There is no obvious method to trigger a GLOBR reset from user space. To fix this, introduce the i40e_aq_set_mac_config() function, similar to the one from the ice driver. Call this during early probe to ensure that the device configuration matches driver expectation. Unlike E800, the E700 firmware also has a bit to control whether the MAC should append CRC data. It is on by default, but setting a 0 to this bit would disable CRC. The i40e implementation must set this bit to ensure CRC will be appended by the MAC. In addition to the AQ command, instead of just checking the I40E_PRTGL_SAH register, update its value to the 9728 default and write it back. This ensures that the hardware is in the expected state, regardless of whether the iPXE (or any other early boot driver) has modified this state. This is a better user experience, as we now fix the issues with larger MTU instead of merely warning. It also aligns with the way the ice E800 series driver works. A final note: The Fixes tag provided here is not strictly accurate. The issue occurs as a result of an external entity (the iPXE intelxl driver), and this is not a regression specifically caused by the mentioned change. However, I believe the original change to just warn about PRTGL_SAH being too low was an insufficient fix. 2025-09-09drm/xe: Block exec and rebind worker while evicting for suspend / hibernateThomas Hellström
When the xe pm_notifier evicts for suspend / hibernate, there might be racing tasks trying to re-validate again. This can lead to suspend taking excessive time or get stuck in a live-lock. This behaviour becomes much worse with the fix that actually makes re-validation bring back bos to VRAM rather than letting them remain in TT. Prevent that by having exec and the rebind worker waiting for a completion that is set to block by the pm_notifier before suspend and is signaled by the pm_notifier after resume / wakeup. It's probably still possible to craft malicious applications that block suspending. More work is pending to fix that. v3: - Avoid wait_for_completion() in the kernel worker since it could potentially cause work item flushes from freezable processes to wait forever. Instead terminate the rebind workers if needed and re-launch at resume.
