The tablet is similar to the 22R Pro, but with a few annoying
differences. Its descriptors are bigger because of the tablet's split
coordinate system, I guess it's just that large. Thankfully, this is
easy enough to support as all we have to do is shift bytes around.
To help code re-use, I changed the signature of
uclogic_params_init_ugee_xppen_pro to accept a pen descriptor so we
didn't create yet-another initialization function.
I have been testing this locally for a month or so and it works great,
and also corroborated this with a few other testers. Since this touches
my 22R Pro code, I have tested and checked that it didn't regress that
device.

once during probe, let's just wait an extra second, which makes connecting

Currently, hidpp_send_message_sync() retries sending the message when the
device returns a busy error code, specifically HIDPP20_ERROR_BUSY, which
has a different meaning under RAP. This ends up being a problem because
this function is used for both FAP and RAP messages.
This issue is not noticeable on older receivers with unreachable devices
since they return HIDPP_ERROR_RESOURCE_ERROR (0x09), which is not equal to
HIDPP20_ERROR_BUSY (0x08).
However, newer receivers return HIDPP_ERROR_UNKNOWN_DEVICE (0x08) which
happens to equal to HIDPP20_ERROR_BUSY, causing unnecessary retries when
the device is not actually busy.
This is resolved by checking if the error response is FAP or RAP and
picking the respective ERROR_BUSY code.

When logitech-hidpp tries to communicate with an unreachable device paired
to a 046d:c547 lightspeed receiver, the following message is printed to the
console:
hidpp_root_get_protocol_version: received protocol error 0x08
This occurs because this receiver returns 0x08 (HIDPP_ERROR_UNKNOWN_DEVICE)
when a device is unreachable, compared to 0x09 (HIDPP_ERROR_RESOURCE_ERROR)
that the older receivers return.
This patch silences this harmless error by treating
HIDPP_ERROR_UNKNOWN_DEVICE the same as HIDPP_ERROR_RESOURCE_ERROR
in hidpp_root_get_protocol_version().
There are other checks for HIDPP_ERROR_RESOURCE_ERROR found in
battery-related functions, however this receiver does not trigger them when
the device is disconnected.

This lightspeed receiver uses 13 byte mouse reports without an ID.
There are 5 additional vendor defined bytes appended to the report.
The workaround for such cases has been adjusted to handle these larger
reports.
The keyboard reports have a distinct layout with differing minimums and
maximums. Additionally, the LED reports now require a report ID of 1.
New keyboard and mouse descriptors have been added to reflect these
changes.
The devices attached to this receiver now report the status of their
battery in wireless mode, libratbag communicates with them and they can
be configured with Piper.

with the button the keyboard.
Note that it is not possible to turn the backlight back on by writing
/sys/class/leds/.../brightness it can only be turned on by pressing
the button on the keyboard. To reflect this /sys/class/leds/.../brightness

On SoCs, like the SAM9X75, which embed the XLCDC ip, the registers that
configure the unified scaling engine were not filled with proper values.
Indeed, for YCbCr formats, the VXSCFACT bitfield of the HEOCFG25
register and the HXSCFACT bitfield of the HEOCFG27 register were
incorrect.
For 4:2:0 formats, both vertical and horizontal factors for
chroma chanels should be divided by 2 from the factors for the luma
channel. Hence:
HEOCFG24.VXSYFACT = VFACTOR
HEOCFG25.VSXCFACT = VFACTOR / 2
HEOCFG26.HXSYFACT = HFACTOR
HEOCFG27.HXSCFACT = HFACTOR / 2
However, for 4:2:2 formats, only the horizontal factor for chroma
chanels should be divided by 2 from the factor for the luma channel;
the vertical factor is the same for all the luma and chroma channels.
Hence:
HEOCFG24.VXSYFACT = VFACTOR
HEOCFG25.VXSCFACT = VFACTOR
HEOCFG26.HXSYFACT = HFACTOR
HEOCFG27.HXSCFACT = HFACTOR / 2

edge detection
The original implementation used level detection for the first interrupt
after device reset to avoid potential interrupt line noise and missed
interrupts during the initialization phase. However, this approach
introduced unintended side effects when tested with certain touch panels,
including:
- Delayed hardware interrupt response
- Multiple spurious interrupt triggers
Switching back to edge detection for the first interrupt resolves these
issues while maintaining reliable interrupt handling.
Extensive testing across multiple platforms with touch panels from
various vendors confirms this change introduces no regressions.

The use of IS_ERR_OR_NULL() suggests that "clk" can be a NULL pointer.
Hence smatch assumes so, and issues a "passing zero to 'PTR_ERR'"

At these checkpoints, "clk" always contains either a valid pointer, or
an error pointer (none of the functions called return NULL pointers).

On R-Car V4H, the PCIEC controller DBI read would generate an SError in
case the controller reset is released by writing SRSTCLR register first,
and immediately afterward reading some PCIEC controller DBI register.
The issue triggers in rcar_gen4_pcie_additional_common_init() on
dw_pcie_readl_dbi(dw, PCIE_PORT_LANE_SKEW), which on V4H is the first
read after reset_control_deassert(dw->core_rsts[DW_PCIE_PWR_RST].rstc).
The reset controller which contains the SRSTCLR register and the PCIEC
controller which contains the DBI register share the same root access
bus, but the bus then splits into separate segments before reaching each
IP. Even if the SRSTCLR write access was posted on the bus before the
DBI read access, it seems the DBI read access may reach the PCIEC
controller before the SRSTCLR write completed, and trigger the SError.
Mitigate the issue by adding a dummy SRSTCLR read, which assures the
SRSTCLR write completes fully and is latched into the reset controller,
before the PCIEC DBI read access can occur.

R-Car V4H Reference Manual R19UH0186EJ0130 Rev.1.30 Apr. 21, 2025 page
583 Figure 9.3.1(a) Software Reset flow (A) as well as flow (B) / (C)
indicate after reset has been asserted by writing a matching reset bit
into register SRCR, it is mandatory to wait 1ms.
This 1ms delay is documented on R-Car V4H and V4M, it is currently
unclear whether S4 is affected as well. This patch does apply the extra
delay on R-Car S4 as well.
Fix the reset driver to respect the additional delay when toggling
resets. Drivers which use separate reset_control_(de)assert() must

struct gpio_chip::irq::{child_to_parent_hwirq,
child_irq_domain_ops::free} APIs to fix spurious IRQs.
After commit 1d2da79708cb ("pinctrl: renesas: rzg2l: Avoid configuring ISEL
in gpio_irq_{en,dis}able*()"), ISEL was no longer configured properly on
resume. This is because the pinctrl resume code used
struct irq_chip::irq_enable (called from rzg2l_gpio_irq_restore()) to
reconfigure the wakeup interrupts. Some drivers (e.g. Ethernet) may also
reconfigure non-wakeup interrupts on resume through their own code,
eventually calling struct irq_chip::irq_enable.
Fix this by adding ISEL configuration back into the
struct irq_chip::irq_enable API and on resume path for wakeup interrupts.
As struct irq_chip::irq_enable needs now to lock to update the ISEL,
convert the struct rzg2l_pinctrl::lock to a raw spinlock and replace the
locking API calls with the raw variants. Otherwise the lockdep reports
invalid wait context when probing the adv7511 module on RZ/G2L:

Having ISEL configuration back into the struct irq_chip::irq_enable API
should be safe with respect to spurious IRQs, as in the probe case IRQs
are enabled anyway in struct gpio_chip::irq::child_to_parent_hwirq. No
spurious IRQs were detected on suspend/resume, boot, ethernet link

insert/remove tests were also executed successfully on RZ/G2L.

During interface toggle operations (ifdown/ifup), the driver currently
resets the local helper variable 'phy_link' to -1. This causes the link
state machine to incorrectly interpret the state as a link change event,
resulting in spurious "Link is down" messages being logged when the
interface is brought back up.
Preserve the phy_link state across interface toggles to avoid treating
the -1 sentinel value as a legitimate link state transition.

DbC may add 1024 bogus bytes to the beginneing of the receiving endpoint
if DbC hw triggers a STALL event before any Transfer Blocks (TRBs) for
incoming data are queued, but driver handles the event after it queued
the TRBs.
This is possible as xHCI DbC hardware may trigger spurious STALL transfer
events even if endpoint is empty. The STALL event contains a pointer
to the stalled TRB, and "remaining" untransferred data length.
As there are no TRBs queued yet the STALL event will just point to first
TRB position of the empty ring, with '0' bytes remaining untransferred.
DbC driver is polling for events, and may not handle the STALL event
before /dev/ttyDBC0 is opened and incoming data TRBs are queued.
The DbC event handler will now assume the first queued TRB (length 1024)
has stalled with '0' bytes remaining untransferred, and copies the data
This race situation can be practically mitigated by making sure the event
handler handles all pending transfer events when DbC reaches configured
state, and only then create dev/ttyDbC0, and start queueing transfers.
The event handler can this way detect the STALL events on empty rings
and discard them before any transfers are queued.
This does in practice solve the issue, but still leaves a small possible
gap for the race to trigger.
We still need a way to distinguish spurious STALLs on empty rings with '0'
bytes remaing, from actual STALL events with all bytes transmitted.

A recent change to hide USB3 root hubs of USB2-only controllers broke
registration of USB2 root hubs - allow_single_roothub is set too late,
and by this time xhci_run() has already deferred root hub registration
until after the shared HCD is added, which will never happen.
This makes such controllers unusable, but testers didn't notice since
they were only bothered by warnings about empty USB3 root hubs. The bug
causes problems to other people who actually use such HCs and I was
able to confirm it on an ordinary HC by patching to ignore USB3 ports.
Setting allow_single_roothub during early setup fixes things.

The `ttm_resource_manager_usage()` function currently assumes `man->bdev` is non-NULL when accessing `man->bdev->lru_lock`.
However, in scenarios where the resource manager is not fully initialized (e.g., APU platforms that lack dedicated VRAM, or incomplete manager setup),
`man->bdev` may remain NULL. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference when attempting to acquire the `lru_lock`, triggering kernel OOPS.
Fix this by adding an explicit safety check for `man->bdev` before accessing its members:
- Use `WARN_ON_ONCE(!man->bdev)` to emit a one-time warning (a soft assertion) when `man->bdev` is NULL. This helps catch invalid usage patterns during debugging without breaking production workflows.
- Return 0 immediately if `man->bdev` is NULL, as a non-initialized manager cannot have valid resource usage to report.

There was backward compatibility in the terms of mailbox API. Various
drivers from various OSes supporting 10G adapters from Intel portfolio
could easily negotiate mailbox API.
This convention has been broken since introducing API 1.4.
Commit 0062e7cc955e ("ixgbevf: add VF IPsec offload code") added support
for IPSec which is specific only for the kernel ixgbe driver. None of the
rest of the Intel 10G PF/VF drivers supports it. And actually lack of
support was not included in the IPSec implementation - there were no such
code paths. No possibility to negotiate support for the feature was
introduced along with introduction of the feature itself.
Commit 339f28964147 ("ixgbevf: Add support for new mailbox communication
between PF and VF") increasing API version to 1.5 did the same - it
introduced code supported specifically by the PF ESX driver. It altered API
version for the VF driver in the same time not touching the version
defined for the PF ixgbe driver. It led to additional discrepancies,
as the code provided within API 1.6 cannot be supported for Linux ixgbe
driver as it causes crashes.
The issue was noticed some time ago and mitigated by Jake within the commit
d0725312adf5 ("ixgbevf: stop attempting IPSEC offload on Mailbox API 1.5").
As a result we have regression for IPsec support and after increasing API
to version 1.6 ixgbevf driver stopped to support ESX MBX.
To fix this mess add new mailbox op asking PF driver about supported
features. Basing on a response determine whether to set support for IPSec
and ESX-specific enhanced mailbox.
New mailbox op, for compatibility purposes, must be added within new API
revision, as API version of OOT PF & VF drivers is already increased to
1.6 and doesn't incorporate features negotiate op.
Features negotiation mechanism gives possibility to be extended with new
features when needed in the future.
