2025-10-29drm/i915/dp_mst: Fix check for FEC support for an uncompressed streamImre Deak
The reason for enabling FEC for an uncompressed stream on an MST link is that the DSC compression is enabled for another stream on the same link. For such an uncompressed stream FEC doesn't need to be supported on the whole path until the (DP-SST) sink DPRX. For instance if a branch device - like a monitor with an MST branch device within it - is plugged to a DFP connector of an MST docking station and the monitor's branch device does not support FEC, the docking station's branch device will still enable the link to the monitor correctly, disabling the FEC on that link as expected. Since it's been verified already that FEC is supported for the compressed stream above, the corresponding check for the uncompressed stream can be dropped: the check for the compressed stream implies already that FEC is supported on the link between the source DPTX and immediate downstream branch device. If FEC is not supported on the whole path until the sink DPRX, FEC will be disabled by a downstream branch device on the path as described above for the MST dock + MST monitor configuration example. This fixes a problem in the above MST dock + MST monitor example, where the dock supports FEC, but the monitor doesn't support it and FEC gets enabled on the link due to DSC getting enabled for another monitor's stream on the same link. 2025-10-29rust: auxiliary: unregister on parent device unbindDanilo Krummrich
Guarantee that an auxiliary driver will be unbound before its parent is unbound; there is no point in operating an auxiliary device whose parent has been unbound. In practice, this guarantee allows us to assume that for a bound auxiliary device, also the parent device is bound. This is useful when an auxiliary driver calls into its parent, since it allows the parent to directly access device resources and its device private data due to the guaranteed bound device context. 2025-10-29rust: device: introduce Device::drvdata()Danilo Krummrich
In C dev_get_drvdata() has specific requirements under which it is valid to access the returned pointer. That is, drivers have to ensure that (1) for the duration the returned pointer is accessed the driver is bound and remains to be bound to the corresponding device, (2) the returned void * is treated according to the driver's private data type, i.e. according to what has been passed to dev_set_drvdata(). In Rust, (1) can be ensured by simply requiring the Bound device context, i.e. provide the drvdata() method for Device<Bound> only. For (2) we would usually make the device type generic over the driver type, e.g. Device<T: Driver>, where <T as Driver>::Data is the type of the driver's private data. However, a device does not have a driver type known at compile time and may be bound to multiple drivers throughout its lifetime. Hence, in order to be able to provide a safe accessor for the driver's device private data, we have to do the type check on runtime. This is achieved by letting a driver assert the expected type, which is then compared to a type hash stored in struct device_private when dev_set_drvdata() is called. Example: // `dev` is a `&Device<Bound>`. let data = dev.drvdata::<SampleDriver>()?; There are two aspects to note: (1) Technically, the same check could be achieved by comparing the struct device_driver pointer of struct device with the struct device_driver pointer of the driver struct (e.g. struct pci_driver). However, this would - in addition the pointer comparison - require to tie back the private driver data type to the struct device_driver pointer of the driver struct to prove correctness. Besides that, accessing the driver struct (stored in the module structure) isn't trivial and would result into horrible code and API ergonomics. (2) Having a direct accessor to the driver's private data is not commonly required (at least in Rust): Bus callback methods already provide access to the driver's device private data through a &self argument, while other driver entry points such as IRQs, workqueues, timers, IOCTLs, etc. have their own private data with separate ownership and lifetime. In other words, a driver's device private data is only relevant for driver model contexts (such a file private is only relevant for file contexts). Having that said, the motivation for accessing the driver's device private data with Device<Bound>::drvdata() are interactions between drivers. For instance, when an auxiliary driver calls back into its parent, the parent has to be capable to derive its private data from the corresponding device (i.e. the parent of the auxiliary device). 2025-10-29clk: qcom: gcc-qcs615: Update the SDCC clock to use shared_floor_opsTaniya Das
Fix "gcc_sdcc2_apps_clk_src: rcg didn't update its configuration" during boot. This happens due to the floor_ops tries to update the rcg configuration even if the clock is not enabled. The shared_floor_ops ensures that the RCG is safely parked and the new parent configuration is cached in the parked_cfg when the clock is off. Ensure to use the ops for the other SDCC clock instances as well. The vd65g4 is the bayer version of the vd55g1. As opposed to the vd55g1, the vd65g4 does not need any patch. Check the sensor id at probe and choose to patch or not on power_on() according to it. 2025-10-29media: i2c: imx219: Fix 1920x1080 mode to use 1:1 pixel aspect ratioDave Stevenson
Commit 0af46fbc333d ("media: i2c: imx219: Calculate crop rectangle dynamically") meant that the 1920x1080 mode switched from using no binning to using vertical binning but no horizontal binning, which resulted in stretched pixels. Until proper controls are available to independently select horizontal and vertical binning, restore the original 1:1 pixel aspect ratio by forcing binning to be uniform in both directions. 2025-10-29regmap: warn users about uninitialized flat cacheSander Vanheule
The standard flat cache did not contain any validity info, so the cache was always considered to be entirely valid. Multiple mechanisms exist to initialize the cache on regmap init (defaults, raw defaults, HW init), but not all drivers are using one of these. As a result, their implementation might currently depend on the zero-initialized cache or contain other workarounds. When reading an uninitialized value from the flat cache, warn the user, but maintain the current behavior. This will allow developers to switch to a sparse (flat) cache independently. 2025-10-29regmap: add flat cache with sparse validitySander Vanheule
The flat regcache will always assume the data in the cache is valid. Since the cache is preferred over hardware access, this may shadow the actual state of the device. Add a new containing cache structure with the flat data table and a bitmap indicating cache validity. REGCACHE_FLAT will still behave as before, as the validity is ignored. Define new cache type REGCACHE_FLAT_S: a flat cache with sparse validity. The sparse validity is used to determine if a hardware access should occur to initialize the cache on the fly, vs. at regmap init for REGCACHE_FLAT. Contrary to REGCACHE_FLAT, this allows us to implement regcache_ops.drop. 2025-10-29media: i2c: dw9719: Fix power on/off sequenceVal Packett
The "jiggle" code was not actually expecting failure, which it should because that's what actually happens when the device wasn't already woken up by the regulator power-on (i.e. in the case of a shared regulator). Also, do actually enter the internal suspend mode on shutdown, to save power in the case of a shared regulator. Also, wait a bit longer (2x tOPR) on waking up, 1x is not enough at least on the DW9718S as found on the motorola-nora smartphone. 2025-10-29accel/ivpu: Remove skip of dma unmap for imported buffersMaciej Falkowski
Rework of imported buffers introduced in the commit e0c0891cd63b ("accel/ivpu: Rework bind/unbind of imported buffers") switched the logic of imported buffers by dma mapping/unmapping them just as the regular buffers. Replace (mode->flags & DRM_MODE_FLAG_P.SYNC) test with inverted conditional (mode->flags & DRM_MODE_FLAG_N.SYNC) and bitwise orr vprmset0r with either or both TXVMVPRMSET0R_HSPOL_LOW and TXVMVPRMSET0R_VSPOL_LOW if conditional matches.
