Fix a kernel panic when probing the driver as a module: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffd9c18eb05000 of_find_matching_node_and_match+0x5c/0x1a0 hantro_probe+0x2f4/0x7d0 [hantro_vpu] The imx8mq_vpu_shared_resources array is referenced by variant structures through their shared_devices field. When built as a module, __initconst causes this data to be freed after module init, but it's later accessed during probe, causing a page fault. The imx8mq_vpu_shared_resources is referenced from non-init code, so keeping __initconst or __initconst_or_module here is wrong. Drop the __initconst annotation and let it live in the normal .rodata section. A bug of __initconst called from regular non-init probe code leading to bugs during probe deferrals or during unbind-bind cycles. The original values provided by Qualcomm appear to be quite inaccurate. Specifically, some heavy gaming tasks could be improperly assigned to the A510 cores by the scheduler, resulting in a CPU bottleneck. This update to the EAS properties aims to enhance the user experience across various scenarios. The power numbers were obtained using a Type-C power meter, which was directly connected to the battery connector on the AYN Odin 2 motherboard, acting as a fake battery. It should be noted that the A715 cores seem less efficient than the A710 cores. 2026-03-18arm64: dts: qcom: hamoa: Add remoteproc IOMMUS in EL2 device treesXin Liu
All the existing variants Hamoa boards are using Gunyah hypervisor which means that, so far, Linux-based OS could only boot in EL1 on those devices. However, it is possible for us to boot Linux at EL2 on these devices [1]. When running under Gunyah, the remote processor firmware IOMMU streams are controlled by Gunyah. However, without Gunyah, the IOMMU is managed by the consumer of this DeviceTree. Therefore, describe the firmware streams for each remote processor. Add remoteproc IOMMUS to the EL2 device trees to generate the corresponding -el2.dtb files. 2026-03-18platform/x86: fujitsu: Convert laptop driver to a platform oneRafael J. Wysocki
In all cases in which a struct acpi_driver is used for binding a driver to an ACPI device object, a corresponding platform device is created by the ACPI core and that device is regarded as a proper representation of underlying hardware. Accordingly, a struct platform_driver should be used by driver code to bind to that device. There are multiple reasons why drivers should not bind directly to ACPI device objects [1]. Overall, it is better to bind drivers to platform devices than to their ACPI companions, so convert the main part of the Fujitsu laptop driver from an ACPI driver to a platform one. After this change, the subordinate LED and input devices will be registered under the platform device used for driver binding instead of its ACPI companion. In all cases in which a struct acpi_driver is used for binding a driver to an ACPI device object, a corresponding platform device is created by the ACPI core and that device is regarded as a proper representation of underlying hardware. Accordingly, a struct platform_driver should be used by driver code to bind to that device. There are multiple reasons why drivers should not bind directly to ACPI device objects [1]. Overall, it is better to bind drivers to platform devices than to their ACPI companions, so convert the backlight part of the Fujitsu laptop driver from an ACPI driver to a platform one. After this change, the backlight and input subordinate devices will be registered under the platform device used for driver binding instead of its ACPI companion. Add new quirk (QUIRK_DISABLE_PANEL_REPLAY) for disabling Panel Replay as quirk for problematic setups. Apply this newly added quirk on Dell XPS 14 DA14260 if specific panel model is installed. We are observing problems with Dell XPS 14 DA14260. This device has certain LGD panel model which seems to be problematic. We have seen other LGD panel model with same OUI is working fine. Due to this we can't apply the quirk only based on panel OUI. There are also cases where same device model has differing panel model. We don't want to disable Panel Replay on such devices. Best we can do is to apply the quirk based on both device model and panel model. 2026-03-18ASoC: wm_adsp: Fix crash in kunit tests on arm64Charles Keepax
Several of the wm_adsp kunit tests failed by only on arm64. This turns out to be passing things to release_firmware which were not allocated with request_firmware. This does actually drop some errors on other platforms but somehow doesn't cause the tests to fail, and kunit hides a lot of the output for passing tests. There is a comment in the code regarding this exact thing in wm_adsp_fw_find_test_case_exit(), but then it goes on and does it anyway. I suspect maybe there was a plan to override wm_adsp_release_firmware_files() that got forgotten, as the function appears to have hooks for kunit that aren't used. Anyway for now implement a simple fix of freeing the filenames locally. It is likely a more detailed fix will be implemented in the near future but this should get things moving again. The deeply nested loop in rkvdec_init_v4l2_vp9_count_tbl() needs a lot of registers, so when the clang register allocator runs out, it ends up spilling countless temporaries to the stack: drivers/media/platform/rockchip/rkvdec/rkvdec-vp9.c:966:12: error: stack frame size (1472) exceeds limit (1280) in 'rkvdec_vp9_start' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than] Marking this function as noinline_for_stack keeps it out of rkvdec_vp9_start(), giving the compiler more room for optimization. The resulting code is good enough that both the total stack usage and the loop get enough better to stay under the warning limit, though it's still slow, and would need a larger rework if this function ends up being called in a fast path. The rkvdec_pps had a large set of bitfields, all of which as misaligned. This causes clang-21 and likely other versions to produce absolutely awful object code and a warning about very large stack usage, on targets without unaligned access: drivers/media/platform/rockchip/rkvdec/rkvdec-vp9.c:966:12: error: stack frame size (1472) exceeds limit (1280) in 'rkvdec_vp9_start' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than] Part of the problem here is how all the bitfield accesses are inlined into a function that already has large structures on the stack. Mark set_field_order_cnt() as noinline_for_stack, and split out the following accesses in assemble_hw_pps() into another noinline function, both of which now using around 800 bytes of stack in the same configuration. There is clearly still something wrong with clang here, but splitting it into multiple functions reduces the risk of stack overflow. MEDIA_REQUEST_IOC_REINIT can run concurrently with VIDIOC_REQBUFS(0) queue teardown paths. This can race request object cleanup against vb2 queue cancellation and lead to use-after-free reports. We already serialize request queueing against STREAMON/OFF with req_queue_mutex. Extend that serialization to REQBUFS, and also take the same mutex in media_request_ioctl_reinit() so REINIT is in the same exclusion domain. This keeps request cleanup and queue cancellation from running in parallel for request-capable devices. Resolve deadlock that occurs when user executes netdev reset while RDMA applications (e.g., rping) are active. The netdev reset causes ice driver to remove irdma auxiliary driver, triggering device_delete and subsequent client removal. During client removal, uverbs_client waits for QP reference count to reach zero while cma_client holds the final reference, creating circular dependency and indefinite wait in iWARP mode. Skip QP reference count wait during device reset to prevent deadlock.
