sctp_free_addr_wq() previously removed addr_wq_timer using timer_delete()
while holding addr_wq_lock. However, timer_delete() does not guarantee that
a currently running timer handler has completed.

This allows a race with sctp_addr_wq_timeout_handler(), where the handler
may still run after addr_waitq has been freed, acquire addr_wq_lock, and
access freed memory, leading to a use-after-free.

Fix this by calling timer_shutdown_sync() before taking addr_wq_lock.  This
guarantees that any in-flight timer handler has finished and prevents the
timer from being re-armed during teardown, making subsequent cleanup safe.

protocol registration fails, the functions return without unregistering
the notifiers.

Unregister the notifiers on the protocol registration failure paths.

None of the udp_tunnel users need struct socket in their
fast paths; it is only used for tunnel setup / teardown.

While the UDP tunnel interface accepts struct socket, this
encourages users to store the pointer unnecessarily.  This
leads to extra dereferences when accessing struct sock fields
(e.g., sk-&gt;sk_user_data instead of sock-&gt;sk-&gt;sk_user_data).

Furthermore, these dereferences necessitate synchronize_rcu()
in udp_tunnel_sock_release() to protect the fast paths from
sock_orphan() setting sk-&gt;sk_socket to NULL.

This overhead can be avoided if users store the struct sock
pointer directly in their private structures.

As a prep, let's change udp_tunnel_sock_release() to take
struct sock instead of struct socket.

udp_tunnel_xmit_skb() / udp_tunnel6_xmit_skb() are expected to run with
BH disabled.  After commit 6f1a9140ecda ("add xmit recursion limit to
tunnel xmit functions"), on the path:

  udp(6)_tunnel_xmit_skb() -&gt; ip(6)tunnel_xmit()

dev_xmit_recursion_inc()/dec() must stay balanced on the same CPU.

Without local_bh_disable(), the context may move between CPUs, which can
break the inc/dec pairing. This may lead to incorrect recursion level
detection and cause packets to be dropped in ip(6)_tunnel_xmit() or
__dev_queue_xmit().

Fix it by disabling BH around both IPv4 and IPv6 SCTP UDP xmit paths.

In my testing, after enabling the SCTP over UDP:

  # ip net exec ha sysctl -w net.sctp.udp_port=9899
  # ip net exec ha sysctl -w net.sctp.encap_port=9899
  # ip net exec hb sysctl -w net.sctp.udp_port=9899
  # ip net exec hb sysctl -w net.sctp.encap_port=9899

  # ip net exec ha iperf3 -s

- without this patch:

  # ip net exec hb iperf3 -c 192.168.0.1 --sctp
  [  5]   0.00-10.00  sec  37.2 MBytes  31.2 Mbits/sec  sender
  [  5]   0.00-10.00  sec  37.1 MBytes  31.1 Mbits/sec  receiver

- with this patch:

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\&lt;k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning

sctp_accept() calls sctp_v[46]_create_accept_sk() to allocate a new
socket and calls sctp_sock_migrate() to copy fields from the parent
socket to the new socket.

sctp_v[46]_create_accept_sk() calls sctp_init_sock() to initialise
sctp_sock, but most fields are overwritten by sctp_copy_descendant()
called from sctp_sock_migrate().

Things done in sctp_init_sock() but not in sctp_sock_migrate() are
the following:

  1. Copy sk-&gt;sk_gso
  2. Copy sk-&gt;sk_destruct (sctp_v6_init_sock())
  3. Allocate sctp_sock.ep
  4. Initialise sctp_sock.pd_lobby
  5. Count sk_sockets_allocated_inc(), sock_prot_inuse_add(),
     and SCTP_DBG_OBJCNT_INC()

Let's do these in sctp_copy_sock() and sctp_sock_migrate() and avoid
calling sk-&gt;sk_prot-&gt;init() in sctp_v[46]_create_accept_sk().

Convert the -&gt;flowic_tos field of struct flowi_common from __u8 to
dscp_t, rename it -&gt;flowic_dscp and propagate these changes to struct
flowi and struct flowi4.

We've had several bugs in the past where ECN bits could interfere with
IPv4 routing, because these bits were not properly cleared when setting
-&gt;flowi4_tos. These bugs should be fixed now and the dscp_t type has
been introduced to ensure that variables carrying DSCP values don't
accidentally have any ECN bits set. Several variables and structure
fields have been converted to dscp_t already, but the main IPv4 routing
structure, struct flowi4, is still using a __u8. To avoid any future
regression, this patch converts it to dscp_t.

There are many users to convert at once. Fortunately, around half of
-&gt;flowi4_tos users already have a dscp_t value at hand, which they
currently convert to __u8 using inet_dscp_to_dsfield(). For all of
these users, we just need to drop that conversion.

But, although we try to do the __u8 &lt;-&gt; dscp_t conversions at the
boundaries of the network or of user space, some places still store
TOS/DSCP variables as __u8 in core networking code. Those can hardly be
converted either because the data structure is part of UAPI or because
the same variable or field is also used for handling ECN in other parts
of the code. In all of these cases where we don't have a dscp_t
variable at hand, we need to use inet_dsfield_to_dscp() when
interacting with -&gt;flowi4_dscp.
