this changes if() BUG(); constructs to BUG_ON() which is
cleaner, contains unlikely() and can better optimized away.

They deal with wrapping correctly and are nicer to read.  Also make

This allows us to eliminate the casts in the drivers, and eventually
remove the use of the device_driver function pointer methods for
platform device drivers.

On several failure exits in ibmtr we end up doing kfree() on dev-&gt;priv,
with dev allocated by alloc_trdev() and -&gt;priv never reassigned.
