The kselftests doc mentions that a config file should be present "if a
test needs specific kernel config options enabled". This selftest
requires some kernel config, but no config file was provided.

We could say that a sub-target could use the parent's config file, but
the kselftests doc doesn't mention anything about that. Plus the
net/openvswitch target is the only net target without a config file.

Here is a new config file, which is a trimmed version of the net one,
with hopefully the minimal required kconfig on top of 'make defconfig'.

The Fixes tag points to the introduction of the net/openvswitch target,
just to help validating this target on stable kernels.

This is required to use unshare(CLONE_NEWUSER).

This has not been seen on NIPA before, because the 'af_unix' tests are
executed with the 'net' ones, merging their config files. USER_NS is
present in tools/testing/selftests/net/config.

This issue is visible when only the af_unix config is used on top of the
default one. This is the recommended way to execute selftest targets.

diag_uid selftest failed on NIPA where the received nlmsg_type is
NLMSG_ERROR [0] because CONFIG_UNIX_DIAG is not set [1] by default

In find_controls(), card_data is allocated with malloc() but when
snd_ctl_open_lconf() fails, the code jumps to next_card without
freeing the allocated memory. This results in a memory leak for
each card where snd_ctl_open_lconf() fails.

Add free(card_data) before goto next_card to ensure proper cleanup
of the allocated memory in the error path.

Replace bpf_strlcpy() in bpf_util.h with a sized_strscpy(), which is a
simplified sized_strscpy() from the kernel (lib/string.c [1]). It:
  * takes a count (destination size) parameter
  * guarantees NULL-termination
  * returns the number of characters copied or -E2BIG

Re-define strscpy macro similar to in-kernel implementation [2]: allow
the count parameter to be optional.

Add #ifdef-s to tools/include/linux/args.h, as they may be defined in
other system headers (for example, __CONCAT in sys/cdefs.h).

Fixup the single existing bpf_strlcpy() call in cgroup_helpers.c

Commit 857d18f23ab1 ("cleanup: Introduce ACQUIRE() and ACQUIRE_ERR() for
conditional locks") accidentally broke the radix tree, VMA userland tests
by including linux/args.h which is not present in the tools/include
directory.

This patch copies this over and adds an #ifdef block to avoid duplicate
__CONCAT declaration in conflict with system headers when we ultimately
include this.

Commit 857d18f23ab1 ("cleanup: Introduce ACQUIRE() and ACQUIRE_ERR() for
conditional locks") accidentally broke the radix tree, VMA userland tests
by including linux/args.h which is not present in the tools/include
directory.

This patch copies this over and adds an #ifdef block to avoid duplicate
__CONCAT declaration in conflict with system headers when we ultimately
include this.

In the same way than commit ae7487d112cf ("selftests/hid: ensure we can
compile the tests on kernels pre-6.3") we should expose struct hid_bpf_ops
when it's not available in vmlinux.h.

So unexpose an eventual struct hid_bpf_ops, include vmlinux.h, and
re-export struct hid_bpf_ops.

<title>bitops: make BYTES_TO_BITS() treewide-available</title>

Avoid open-coding that simple expression each time by moving
BYTES_TO_BITS() from the probes code to &lt;linux/bitops.h&gt; to export
it to the rest of the kernel.
Simplify the macro while at it. `BITS_PER_LONG / sizeof(long)` always
equals to %BITS_PER_BYTE, regardless of the target architecture.
Do the same for the tools ecosystem as well (incl. its version of
bitops.h). The previous implementation had its implicit type of long,
while the new one is int, so adjust the format literal accordingly in
the perf code.

Avoid symlink-based pidfile clobbering by opening the pidfile with
O_NOFOLLOW and validating it with fstat() before locking/writing.

The daemon currently uses a fixed pidfile path under /tmp. A local
unprivileged user can pre-create a symlink at that path and cause a
root-run daemon instance to write into an attacker-chosen file.
