commit c1f866767777d1c6abae0ec57effffcb72017c00 upstream.

More recent GCC warns about two kinds of switch statement uses:

1) Switching on an enumeration, but not having an explicit case
   statement for all members of the enumeration. To show the
   compiler this is intentional, we simply add a default case
   with nothing more than a break statement.

2) Switching on a boolean value. I think this warning is dumb
   but nevertheless you get it wholesale with -Wswitch.

This patch cures all such warnings in netfilter.

commit b197df4f0f3782782e9ea8996e91b65ae33e8dd9 upstream.

Instead of doing the rt6-&gt;rt6i_node check whenever we need
to get the route's cookie. Refactor it into rt6_get_cookie().
It is a prep work to handle FLOWI_FLAG_KNOWN_NH and also
percpu rt6_info later.

<title>netfilter: ctnetlink: fix incorrect nf_ct_put during hash resize</title>

commit fefa92679dbe0c613e62b6c27235dcfbe9640ad1 upstream.

If nf_conntrack_htable_size was adjusted by the user during the ct
dump operation, we may invoke nf_ct_put twice for the same ct, i.e.
the "last" ct. This will cause the ct will be freed but still linked
in hash buckets.

It's very easy to reproduce the problem by the following commands:
  # while : ; do
  echo $RANDOM &gt; /proc/sys/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_buckets
  done
  # while : ; do
  conntrack -L
  done
  # iperf -s 127.0.0.1 &amp;
  # iperf -c 127.0.0.1 -P 60 -t 36000

After a while, the system will hang like this:
  NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 22s! [bash:20184]
  NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s! [iperf:20382]
  ...

So at last if we find cb-&gt;args[1] is equal to "last", this means hash
resize happened, then we can set cb-&gt;args[1] to 0 to fix the above
issue.

<title>netfilter: ctnetlink: make it safer when updating ct-&gt;status</title>

commit 53b56da83d7899de375a9de153fd7f5397de85e6 upstream.

After converting to use rcu for conntrack hash, one CPU may update
the ct-&gt;status via ctnetlink, while another CPU may process the
packets and update the ct-&gt;status.

So the non-atomic operation "ct-&gt;status |= status;" via ctnetlink
becomes unsafe, and this may clear the IPS_DYING_BIT bit set by
another CPU unexpectedly. For example:
         CPU0                            CPU1
  ctnetlink_change_status        __nf_conntrack_find_get
      old = ct-&gt;status              nf_ct_gc_expired
          -                         nf_ct_kill
          -                      test_and_set_bit(IPS_DYING_BIT
      new = old | status;                 -
  ct-&gt;status = new; &lt;-- oops, _DYING_ is cleared!

Now using a series of atomic bit operation to solve the above issue.

Also note, user shouldn't set IPS_TEMPLATE, IPS_SEQ_ADJUST directly,
so make these two bits be unchangable too.

If we set the IPS_TEMPLATE_BIT, ct will be freed by nf_ct_tmpl_free,
but actually it is alloced by nf_conntrack_alloc.
If we set the IPS_SEQ_ADJUST_BIT, this may cause the NULL pointer
deference, as the nfct_seqadj(ct) maybe NULL.

Last, add some comments to describe the logic change due to the
commit a963d710f367 ("netfilter: ctnetlink: Fix regression in CTA_STATUS
processing"), which makes me feel a little confusing.

Currently, ctnetlink_change_conntrack is always protected by _expect_lock,
but this will cause a deadlock when deleting the helper from a conntrack,
as the _expect_lock will be acquired again by nf_ct_remove_expectations:

         CPU0

commit 5ce6b04ce96896e8a79e6f60740ced911eaac7a4 upstream.

First, log prefix will be truncated to NF_LOG_PREFIXLEN-1, i.e. 127,
at nf_log_packet(), so the extra part is useless.

Second, after adding a log rule with a very very long prefix, we will
fail to dump the nft rules after this _special_ one, but acctually,
they do exist. For example:
  # name_65000=$(printf "%0.sQ" {1..65000})
  # nft add rule filter output log prefix "$name_65000"
  # nft add rule filter output counter
  # nft add rule filter output counter
  # nft list chain filter output
  table ip filter {
      chain output {
          type filter hook output priority 0; policy accept;
      }
  }

So now, restrict the log prefix length to NF_LOG_PREFIXLEN-1.

commit c58d6c93680f28ac58984af61d0a7ebf4319c241 upstream.

If nlh-&gt;nlmsg_len is zero then an infinite loop is triggered because
'skb_pull(skb, msglen);' pulls zero bytes.

The calculation in nlmsg_len() underflows if 'nlh-&gt;nlmsg_len &lt;
NLMSG_HDRLEN' which bypasses the length validation and will later
trigger an out-of-bound read.

If the length validation does fail then the malformed batch message is
copied back to userspace. However, we cannot do this because the
nlh-&gt;nlmsg_len can be invalid. This leads to an out-of-bounds read in

commit c17c3cdff10b9f59ef1244a14604f10949f17117 upstream.

When the memory is exhausted, then we will fail to add the NFT_MSG_NEWSET
transaction. In such case, we should destroy the set before we free it.

<title>netfilter: nf_tables: fix type mismatch with error return from nft_parse_u32_check</title>

commit f1d505bb762e30bf316ff5d3b604914649d6aed3 upstream.

Commit 36b701fae12ac ("netfilter: nf_tables: validate maximum value of
u32 netlink attributes") introduced nft_parse_u32_check with a return
value of "unsigned int", yet on error it returns "-ERANGE".

This patch corrects the mismatch by changing the return value to "int",
which happens to match the actual users of nft_parse_u32_check already.

Found by Coverity, CID 1373930.

Note that commit 21a9e0f1568ea ("netfilter: nft_exthdr: fix error
handling in nft_exthdr_init()) attempted to address the issue, but
did not address the return type of nft_parse_u32_check.
