commit d5dc200c3a3f217de072af269dd90adddf90e48d upstream.

As reported by sashiko we use __get_user without prior access_ok call on the
user space pointer. Adding the missing call for the whole pointer array.

Plus removing the err check in the error path, because it's not needed and
also we can return -ENOMEM directly from the first kvmalloc_array fail path.

<title>bpf: Reject sleepable kprobe_multi programs at attach time</title>

commit eb7024bfcc5f68ed11ed9dd4891a3073c15f04a8 upstream.

kprobe.multi programs run in atomic/RCU context and cannot sleep.
However, bpf_kprobe_multi_link_attach() did not validate whether the
program being attached had the sleepable flag set, allowing sleepable
helpers such as bpf_copy_from_user() to be invoked from a non-sleepable
context.

This causes a "sleeping function called from invalid context" splat:

  BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at ./include/linux/uaccess.h:169
  in_atomic(): 1, irqs_disabled(): 0, non_block: 0, pid: 1787, name: sudo
  preempt_count: 1, expected: 0
  RCU nest depth: 2, expected: 0

Fix this by rejecting sleepable programs early in
bpf_kprobe_multi_link_attach(), before any further processing.

[ Upstream commit abdaf49be5424db74e19d167c10d7dad79a0efc2 ]

Graph tracer framework ensures we won't migrate, kprobe_multi_link_prog_run
called all the way from graph tracer, which disables preemption in
function_graph_enter_regs, as Jiri and Yonghong suggested, there is no
need to use migrate_disable. As a result, some overhead may will be reduced.
And add cant_sleep check for __this_cpu_inc_return.

[ Upstream commit 4e2e6841ff761cc15a54e8bebcf35d7325ec78a2 ]

This reverts commit 4a8f635a6054.

Althought get_pid_task() internally already calls rcu_read_lock() and
rcu_read_unlock(), the find_vpid() was not.

The documentation for find_vpid() clearly states:
"Must be called with the tasklist_lock or rcu_read_lock() held."

Add proper rcu_read_lock/unlock() to protect the find_vpid().

Tracepoint like trace_mmap_lock_acquire_returned may cause nested call
as the corner case show above, which will be resolved with more general
method in the future. As a result, WARN_ON_ONCE will be triggered. As
Alexei suggested, remove the WARN_ON_ONCE first.

The link_create.flags are currently not used for multi-kprobes, so return
-EINVAL if it is set, same as for other attach APIs.

We allow target_fd, on the other hand, to have an arbitrary value for
multi-kprobe, as there are existing users (libbpf) relying on this.

[ Upstream commit 4580f4e0ebdf8dc8d506ae926b88510395a0c1d1 ]

Fix the following deadlock:
CPU A
_free_event()
  perf_kprobe_destroy()
    mutex_lock(&amp;event_mutex)
      perf_trace_event_unreg()
        synchronize_rcu_tasks_trace()

There are several paths where _free_event() grabs event_mutex
and calls sync_rcu_tasks_trace. Above is one such case.

CPU B
bpf_prog_test_run_syscall()
  rcu_read_lock_trace()
    bpf_prog_run_pin_on_cpu()
      bpf_prog_load()
        bpf_tracing_func_proto()
          trace_set_clr_event()
            mutex_lock(&amp;event_mutex)

Delegate trace_set_clr_event() to workqueue to avoid
such lock dependency.

<title>bpf: Use preempt_count() directly in bpf_send_signal_common()</title>

[ Upstream commit b4a8b5bba712a711d8ca1f7d04646db63f9c88f5 ]

bpf_send_signal_common() uses preemptible() to check whether or not the
current context is preemptible. If it is preemptible, it will use
irq_work to send the signal asynchronously instead of trying to hold a
spin-lock, because spin-lock is sleepable under PREEMPT_RT.

However, preemptible() depends on CONFIG_PREEMPT_COUNT. When
CONFIG_PREEMPT_COUNT is turned off (e.g., CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY=y),
!preemptible() will be evaluated as 1 and bpf_send_signal_common() will
use irq_work unconditionally.

Fix it by unfolding "!preemptible()" and using "preempt_count() != 0 ||
irqs_disabled()" instead.

BPF programs can execute in all kinds of contexts and when a program
running in a non-preemptible context uses the bpf_send_signal() kfunc,
it will cause issues because this kfunc can sleep.
Change `irqs_disabled()` to `!preemptible()`.

[ Upstream commit b9c44b91476b67327a521568a854babecc4070ab ]

Currently, space for raw sample data is always allocated within sample
records for both BPF output and tracepoint events. This leads to unused
space in sample records when raw sample data is not requested.

This patch enforces checking sample type of an event in
perf_sample_save_raw_data(). So raw sample data will only be saved if
explicitly requested, reducing overhead when it is not needed.
