commit 5962ded777d689cd8bf04454273e32228d7fb71f upstream.

When typec_altmode_put_partner is called by a plug altmode upon release,
the port altmode the plug belongs to will not remove its reference to the
plug. The check to see if the altmode being released is a plug evaluates
against the released altmode's partner instead of the calling altmode, so
change adev in typec_altmode_put_partner to properly refer to the altmode
being released.

Because typec_altmode_set_partner calls get_device() on the port altmode,
add partner_adev that points to the port altmode in typec_put_partner to
call put_device() on. typec_altmode_set_partner is not called for port
altmodes, so add a check in typec_altmode_release to prevent
typec_altmode_put_partner() calls on port altmode release.

This reverts commit b17b7fe6dd5c6ff74b38b0758ca799cdbb79e26e.

That commit messed up the reference counting, so it needs to

commit b17b7fe6dd5c6ff74b38b0758ca799cdbb79e26e upstream.

When typec_altmode_put_partner is called by a plug altmode upon release,
the port altmode the plug belongs to will not remove its reference to the
plug. The check to see if the altmode being released evaluates against the
released altmode's partner instead of the calling altmode itself, so change
adev in typec_altmode_put_partner to properly refer to the altmode being
released.

typec_altmode_set_partner is not run for port altmodes, so also add a check
in typec_altmode_release to prevent typec_altmode_put_partner() calls on
port altmode release.

commit 6fb9e1d94789e8ee5a258a23bc588693f743fd6c upstream.

System like Android allow user control power role from UI, it is possible
to implement application base on typec uevent to refresh UI, but found
there is chance that UI show different state from typec attribute file.

In typec_set_pwr_opmode(), when partner support PD, there is no uevent
send to user space which cause the problem.

Fix it by sending uevent notification when change power mode to PD.

Add a helper to match the device name for device lookup. Also
reuse this generic exported helper for the existing bus_find_device_by_name().
and add similar variants for driver/class.

Registering real device entries (struct device) for the mode
muxes as well as for the orientation switches.

The Type-C mux code was deliberately attempting to avoid
creation of separate device entries for the orientation
switch and the mode switch (alternate modes) because they
are not physical devices. They are functions of a single
physical multiplexer/demultiplexer switch device.

Unfortunately because of the dependency we still have on the
underlying mux device driver, we had to put in hacks like
the one in the commit 3e3b81965cbf ("usb: typec: mux: Take
care of driver module reference counting") to make sure the
driver does not disappear from underneath us. Even with
those hacks we were still left with a potential NUll pointer
dereference scenario, so just creating the device entries,
and letting the core take care of the dependencies. No more
hacks needed.

When the connections are defined in firmware, struct
device_connection will have the fwnode member pointing to
the device node (struct fwnode_handle) of the requested
device, and the endpoint will not be used at all in that
case.
