commit e31408734332b8cc611342cdaaab6ba492180156 upstream.

occ_active(false) and occ_shutdown() unregister sysfs-backed devices while
occ-&gt;lock is held.  hwmon_device_unregister() and sysfs_remove_group() can
wait for active sysfs callbacks to drain, and those callbacks can enter the
OCC update path and try to take occ-&gt;lock again. That gives the unregister
paths the lock ordering occ-&gt;lock -&gt; sysfs callback drain, while a callback
has the opposite edge sysfs callback -&gt; occ-&gt;lock.

This issue was found by our static analysis tool and then manually
reviewed against the current tree.

The grounded PoC kept the real unregister and callback carrier:

  occ_shutdown()
  hwmon_device_unregister()
  occ_show_temp_1()
  occ_update_response()

Lockdep reported the circular dependency with occ_shutdown() already
holding the OCC mutex and hwmon_device_unregister() waiting on the sysfs
side:

  WARNING: possible circular locking dependency detected

  occ_show_temp_1.constprop.0.isra.0+0x23/0x40 [vuln_msv]
  *** DEADLOCK ***

Serialize hwmon registration and removal with a separate hwmon_lock.
Under that lock, detach occ-&gt;hwmon and update occ-&gt;active while occ-&gt;lock
is held so concurrent OCC state changes still see a stable state, then
drop occ-&gt;lock before calling hwmon_device_unregister(). Remove the
driver sysfs group before taking occ-&gt;lock in occ_shutdown(), so draining
the driver attributes cannot wait while the OCC mutex is held. Also make
OCC update callbacks return -ENODEV after deactivation, so callbacks that
already passed sysfs active protection do not poll the hardware after
teardown has detached the hwmon device.

<title>hwmon: (occ) Fix missing newline in occ_show_extended()</title>

In occ_show_extended() case 0, when the EXTN_FLAG_SENSOR_ID flag
is set, the sysfs_emit format string "%u" is missing the trailing
newline that the sysfs ABI expects. The else branch correctly uses
"%4phN\n", and all other show functions in this file include the
trailing newline.

Add the missing "\n" for consistency and correct sysfs output.

<title>hwmon: (occ) Fix division by zero in occ_show_power_1()</title>

In occ_show_power_1() case 1, the accumulator is divided by
update_tag without checking for zero. If no samples have been
collected yet (e.g. during early boot when the sensor block is
included but hasn't been updated), update_tag is zero, causing
a kernel divide-by-zero crash.

The 2019 fix in commit 211186cae14d ("hwmon: (occ) Fix division by
zero issue") only addressed occ_get_powr_avg() used by
occ_show_power_2() and occ_show_power_a0(). This separate code
path in occ_show_power_1() was missed.

Fix this by reusing the existing occ_get_powr_avg() helper, which
already handles the zero-sample case and uses mul_u64_u32_div()
to multiply before dividing for better precision. Move the helper
above occ_show_power_1() so it is visible at the call site.

This is a printf-style function, which gcc -Werror=suggest-attribute=format
correctly points out:

drivers/hwmon/occ/common.c: In function 'occ_init_attribute':
drivers/hwmon/occ/common.c:761:9: error: function 'occ_init_attribute' might be a candidate for 'gnu_printf' format attribute [-Werror=suggest-attribute=format]

undefined behavior:

clang produces an output with excessive stack usage when building the
occ_setup_sensor_attrs() function, apparently the result of having
a lot of struct literals and building with the -fno-strict-overflow
option that leads clang to skip some optimization in case the 'attr'
pointer overruns:

drivers/hwmon/occ/common.c:775:12: error: stack frame size (1392) exceeds limit (1280) in 'occ_setup_sensor_attrs' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than]

Replace the custom macros for initializing the attributes with a
simpler function call that does not run into this corner case.

asm/unaligned.h is always an include of asm-generic/unaligned.h;
might as well move that thing to linux/unaligned.h and include
that - there's nothing arch-specific in that header.

printf()-like functions in the kernel have extensions, such as
%*phN to dump small pieces of memory as hex bytes.

Replace custom approach with the direct use of %*phN.

<title>hwmon: (occ) Prevent power cap command overwriting poll response</title>

Currently, the response to the power cap command overwrites the
first eight bytes of the poll response, since the commands use
the same buffer. This means that user's get the wrong data between
the time of sending the power cap and the next poll response update.
Fix this by specifying a different buffer for the power cap command
response.
