This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

The guc_hw_reg_state array is not exported, so make it static.
Fixes the following sparse warning:
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_gpu_error.c:692:3: warning: symbol 'guc_hw_reg_state' was not declared. Should it be static?

If GuC hangs, the GuC logs might not contain enough information to
understand exactly why the hang occurred. In this case, we need to
look at the GuC HW state to try to understand where the GuC is stuck. It
is therefore useful to include the GuC HW state in the error capture.

The list of registers that are part of the GuC HW state can change based
on platform, but it is the same for all platforms from TGL to MTL so we
only need to support one version for i915.

v2: revised list
v3: remove confusing comment, use sizeof(u32) instead of 4 (John)

The bin_attribute argument of bin_attribute::read() is now const.
This makes the _new() callbacks unnecessary. Switch all users back.

<title>drm/{i915,xe}: convert i915 and xe display members into pointers</title>

<id>96b451d53ae9760858c547081532b01038f00912</id>

As the first step towards making struct intel_display an opaque pointer
in i915 and xe drivers, convert the struct drm_i915_private and struct
xe_device display members into pointers.

Initially, add temporary struct intel_display __display members, and
point display at it to avoid dynamic allocation. In the future, we can
drop this, and switch to dynamic allocation.

The conversion is done simply with sed:

sed -i 's/&amp;\([a-zA-Z0-9_&gt;.-]*\)\(dev_priv\|i915\|xe\)-&gt;display\([^.]\)/\1\2-&gt;display\3/g' \
    $(git ls-files -- drivers/gpu/drm/i915 drivers/gpu/drm/xe)

sed -i 's/\(dev_priv\|i915\|xe\)-&gt;display\./\1-&gt;display-&gt;/g' \
    $(git ls-files -- drivers/gpu/drm/i915 drivers/gpu/drm/xe)

With a couple of manual tweaks on top.

v2: Initialize i915-&gt;display also in selftest mock_gem_device()
