[ Upstream commit 602ad43c3cd8f15cbb25ce9bb494129edb2024ed ]

This partially reverts 20543be93ca45968f344261c1a997177e51bd7e1.

Calling drm_connector_update_edid_property() in
amdgpu_connector_free_edid() causes a noticeable pause in
the system every 10 seconds on polled outputs so revert this
part of the change.

drm_display_info is updated by drm_get_edid() or
drm_connector_update_edid_property(). In the amdgpu driver it is almost
always updated when the edid is read in amdgpu_connector_get_edid(),
but not always. Change amdgpu_connector_get_edid() and
amdgpu_connector_free_edid() to keep drm_display_info updated.

<title>drm/amdgpu: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in amdgpu_connector_lcd_native_mode()</title>

[ Upstream commit b220110e4cd442156f36e1d9b4914bb9e87b0d00 ]

In amdgpu_connector_lcd_native_mode(), the return value of
drm_mode_duplicate() is assigned to mode, and there is a dereference
of it in amdgpu_connector_lcd_native_mode(), which will lead to a NULL
pointer dereference on failure of drm_mode_duplicate().

Fix this bug add a check of mode.

This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs
differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations
(e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the
inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or
the callers, so they constitute bugs.

Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false
positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed
the bug.

Builds with CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU=m show no new warnings, and
our static analyzer no longer warns about this code.

<title>drm/amdgpu: fix set scaling mode Full/Full aspect/Center not works on vga and dvi connectors</title>

commit bf552083916a7f8800477b5986940d1c9a31b953 upstream.

amdgpu_connector_vga_get_modes missed function amdgpu_get_native_mode
which assign amdgpu_encoder-&gt;native_mode with *preferred_mode result in
amdgpu_encoder-&gt;native_mode.clock always be 0. That will cause
amdgpu_connector_set_property returned early on:
if ((rmx_type != DRM_MODE_SCALE_NONE) &amp;&amp;
	(amdgpu_encoder-&gt;native_mode.clock == 0))
when we try to set scaling mode Full/Full aspect/Center.
Add the missing function to amdgpu_connector_vga_get_mode can fix this.
It also works on dvi connectors because
amdgpu_connector_dvi_helper_funcs.get_mode use the same method.

Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in
the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is
confusing. Split them out.

To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all
drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of
drm_crtc_helper.h includes.

v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers
that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1.

v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but
not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h &gt; drm_modeset_helper.h -&gt; drmP.h
there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means
rolling out lots more includes all over.

This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I
expect.

v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs.

v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits:
- (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in
  other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged).
- sort alphabetically

v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I
touch.

v6: Rebase onto i915 changes.

v7: Rebase once more.

there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means
rolling out lots more includes all over.
