commit b83ce9cb4a465b8f9a3fa45561b721a9551f60e3 upstream.

When a fence signals there is a very small race window where the timestamp
isn't updated yet. sync_file solves this by busy waiting for the
timestamp to appear, but on other ocassions didn't handled this
correctly.

Provide a dma_fence_timestamp() helper function for this and use it in
all appropriate cases.

Another alternative would be to grab the spinlock when that happens.

v2 by teddy: add a wait parameter to wait for the timestamp to show up, in case
   the accurate timestamp is needed and/or the timestamp is not based on
   ktime (e.g. hw timestamp)
v3 chk: drop the parameter again for unified handling

<title>dma-buf/sw_sync: Avoid recursive lock during fence signal</title>

If a signal callback releases the sw_sync fence, that will trigger a
deadlock as the timeline_fence_release recurses onto the fence-&gt;lock
(used both for signaling and the the timeline tree).

To avoid that, temporarily hold an extra reference to the signalled
fences until after we drop the lock.

(This is an alternative implementation of https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/11664717/
which avoids some potential UAF issues with the original patch.)

v2: Remove now obsolete comment, use list_move_tail() and
    list_del_init()

<title>dma-buf/dma-resv: Stop leaking on krealloc() failure</title>

Currently dma_resv_get_fences() will leak the previously
allocated array if the fence iteration got restarted and
the krealloc_array() fails.

Free the old array by hand, and make sure we still clear
the returned *fences so the caller won't end up accessing
freed memory. Some (but not all) of the callers of
dma_resv_get_fences() seem to still trawl through the
array even when dma_resv_get_fences() failed. And let's
zero out *num_fences as well for good measure.

Smatch detected potential error pointer dereference.

    drivers/gpu/drm/drm_syncobj.c:888 drm_syncobj_transfer_to_timeline()
    error: 'fence' dereferencing possible ERR_PTR()

The error pointer comes from dma_fence_allocate_private_stub(). One
caller expected error pointers and one expected NULL pointers. Change
it to return NULL and update the caller which expected error pointers,
drm_syncobj_assign_null_handle(), to check for NULL instead.

<title>udmabuf: revert 'Add support for mapping hugepages (v4)'</title>

This effectively reverts commit 16c243e99d33 ("udmabuf: Add support for
mapping hugepages (v4)"). Recently, Junxiao Chang found a BUG with page
map counting as described here [1]. This issue pointed out that the
udmabuf driver was making direct use of subpages of hugetlb pages. This
is not a good idea, and no other mm code attempts such use. In addition
to the mapcount issue, this also causes issues with hugetlb vmemmap
optimization and page poisoning.

For now, remove hugetlb support.

If udmabuf wants to be used on hugetlb mappings, it should be changed to
only use complete hugetlb pages. This will require different alignment
and size requirements on the UDMABUF_CREATE API.

<title>dma-buf/sw_sync: Replace all non-returning strlcpy with strscpy</title>

strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first.
This read may exceed the destination size limit.
This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read
overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated [1].
In an effort to remove strlcpy() completely [2], replace
strlcpy() here with strscpy().
No return values were used, so direct replacement is safe.
